The night before I traveled to Coon Rapids I requested information about one of the vehicles on the lot. I received very good communication with Carolyn and when I arrived at the lot the car was warmed up, mostly clear of snow and ready for a test drive. Though I was slow to make a decision, Carolyn was very patient and I didn't feel rushed/pushed into making a decision. I ended up paying a bit more than I had planned but my family has a great vehicle. When setting up the financing for the vehicle, Grey did an excellent job of explaining the terms and was speedy setting up the loan. More

I am leasing my 4th RAV4 from Carlson. Ryan, the sales manager, wanted me to trade my 2018 early, and told me he would do it for the same payment. When I got into the finance office, that was not true. Wh manager, wanted me to trade my 2018 early, and told me he would do it for the same payment. When I got into the finance office, that was not true. While the payment would be the same, it did not include Gap Insurance, which my other payment did. I had to decline the Gap Insurance in order to afford the new car. More

Poor communication After several calls to and from this dealership about my appointment that was supposed to have been a couple of days ago, my personal experience was t After several calls to and from this dealership about my appointment that was supposed to have been a couple of days ago, my personal experience was that I was talked over by the service manager and later by his manager, neither of whom was a very good listener. In my original call, I had asked whether they were still open and able to do the work after the governor shut down certain activities due to COVID 19. He said they were. I then asked what precautions they were taking to protect staff and customers. I mentioned that I work in health care. He never answered my question, instead fixating on the idea that I must be sick and should not have an appointment. I spent way too much time on the phone arguing with him that, since the appointment was already on our calendars, it should be kept. He and his manager decided it might be okay for me to come after the shutdown ended on April 10, and so I asked what would happen if the shutdown was extended. I believe his name was Scott, and his answer was that he would call me on the 10th. I left that conversation feeling dissatisfied, because my car didn't get fixed, and because no future appointment was made. It was not until today that I was told that the original person I talked to in Service somehow misunderstood that he thought I was ill. However, I was not offered a new appointment. I did ask if they would do that. I was not abusive or swearing. I did have to raise my voice once while Scott was telling me why he was right about everything, because I couldn't get a word in edgewise. After he heard me, he said he would call me back later. He didn't say why. I told him that I had spent enough time on this, and I still need to get the service done on my car. I asked him not to call me. More
Buyer Beware! I bought a used mini vans from Carlson Toyota . The vehicle was being sold “as is”. I looked up the car facts, and nothing of concern came up. I went into the dealership to test drive. I checked the vehicle out and on the surface everything seemed fine. I go back into the dealership to ask the sales team what kind of condition I would be buying the vehicle in and I was reassured that the vehicle passed Toyota inspection and had zero major issues. I was in a rush, so I took their word for it as I trusted Toyota inspection. I buy the vehicle and next morning I realized the engine is leaking. I go back to their offices to see what they can do for me. They wasted half an hour and at the end let me know that it was my problem. Just a day ago, they proclaimed the vehicle to have no issue. I lost all faith in this dealership. They lied to me just sell me a vehicle that had engine oil leak. Don’t waste your time at Carlson Toyota. More

Steer Clear I should have been warned from the beginning by the email sent to me by the used car manager TJ. He has zero class and didn't even have the guts to approach me while I waited almost 2 hours to get into the business office, yes I said 2 hours. As far as the service department goes, don't expect them to go above and beyond at this dealership....they don't even provide free loaners although I was told that at the time of purchase. If you buy an extended warranty, be prepared to fight tooth and nail to get something covered...including the rental they want to charge you $35 for. All in all, I've learned my lesson....get everything in writing and take notice of the tone of your conversation from the get go. I should've never walked back in after I walked out the first time.
