Had an appointment, for a regular service. Nothing wrong, just service light came on, and it was time. Had to wait 2 1/2 hours. Had coupon that stated "Gift Certificate $20.oo towards any service or repair just service light came on, and it was time. Had to wait 2 1/2 hours. Had coupon that stated "Gift Certificate $20.oo towards any service or repair". However, they would not accept it. (Bill came to $115). Fine print stated 'Excludes oil changes, state inspection, wiper blades and tire rotations". And the service did involve an oil change and tire rotation. But I did not read fine print. In bold it states "Gift Certificate $20 toward any service or repair". Well we had a service, so for $20, it would have made me satisfied. Now I will re-consider going to Newport for my service. I can go to the Johnston dealership 6 minutes away, instead of driving 35 minutes each way to Newport, and over the toll Bridge. No brainer- give the lady (me) her $20 for the stated "gift cert $20 off service", and I would not have bothered writing the above critique and would have continued going to Newport and the wait would not have bothered me. Or next time you mail out these "gift certificates' and don't want to include routine services, don't call the certificate "Towards any service" More
This dealer is great. Bought my 2010 Altima here and the dealer service was wonderful! I got a package that alows me to get 12 free oil changes so I take my car there often. After looking for a while on a reasonably priced, used Nissan Sentra, I finally found one that piqued my interest. Although the drive was over an hour, I was extremely satisfied with the service I receive Nissan Sentra, I finally found one that piqued my interest. Although the drive was over an hour, I was extremely satisfied with the service I received when I finally arrived. I was immediately greeted by Roger, and was pleasantly surprised by how genuine, down to earth, and helpful he was. He was very engaged in exactly what I wanted and truly wanted me to be happy with my purchase. He spent time showing me all of the elements of the car as well as some of the fun features. After test driving the car and realizing I was in love with it, we began negotiating a price. He helped to lower the price to a number I was comfortable paying for the vehicle, and kept in touch throughout the process. He even set me up with someone to install a remote starter. When I went to pick up the car, he had put some gas in the tank, fully detailed the car, and put a nice big red bow on it for me. As terrifying as buying a car at 22 is, Roger helped make it a tolerable process, and I truly enjoyed working with him. I was grateful to have someone who seemed to be on my side. He was personable, humorous, and a great person to buy a car from. I would highly recommend him, and would easily drive the 1+ car ride again if it meant working with him! More

I needed a good used car with AWD with low mileage, and a pretty good price. I had wanted a used RAV and had been looking. I went to Barry's a couple of times and had Roger Pinsonnault as my salesperson. He pretty good price. I had wanted a used RAV and had been looking. He called me a couple of weeks later to tell me he may have a car for me. He was correct!!!!!!! Good salesman! He was honest and I will send any persons to his dealership for a good experience. My granddaughter, Katie, needed a car to get to and from home, college and her job. We had been sharing my car over the summer, but with her new schedule starting 9/7 we knew that would no longer be an opti home, college and her job. She had spoken to a sales person at Barry's about a car and asked me if we could just "check it out". (I became a bit anxious and nervous at this point - knowing how high pressured car salesmen can be!!) We had looked at a number of cars, too much money - needs work - no financing available, etc., so I agreed to just take a look, but told her it would probably cost WAY TOO MUCH. We met with her "new best friend Roger" Pinsonnault - the salesman she had spoken to on the phone. Little did I know that meeting Roger would be one of the most remarkable and outstanding experiences I would have during my lifetime! Because of Roger's never ending perseverance, constant effort, hard work and determination KATIE GOT HER CAR!!! Roger even came in and met with us on his day off, to go over options with us. On two separate occasions Katie was sure she WOULD NOT get her beautiful car. On Friday 09/02/2011 Katie drove her beautiful Hyundai Accent GS Hatchback out of Barry's parking lot on "cloud nine". Katie and I learned a real lesson through this whole experience. If you believe in yourself, and trust people to believe as well, anything can happen. I should also mention that Stephen F. Marchand was a tremendous help as well. He did most of the financial work and made that happen when we never thought it would. Everyone we met during this experience were such fine and caring people. I would highly recommend Barry's to anyone that needs a car. More
