I am sharing my experience with Barry's in hopes that someone else doesn't have to go through what I've been through. Beginning 2 weeks ago I had contacted Barry's about purchasing a Jaguar they showed o someone else doesn't have to go through what I've been through. Beginning 2 weeks ago I had contacted Barry's about purchasing a Jaguar they showed on their website. I repeatedly asked Sean to have the vehicle inspected before I placed a deposit. Sean assured me that the car was clean, and went through the Autocheck report with me, so I left a deposit. After reaching out again to see if the car was inspected I was told that the best way to get it inspected quickly would be to finish the down payment and get the loan started. Sean turned me over to Jason who began the loan process. After finalizing and submitting my loan paperwork I asked again for an inspection report on the vehicle. After 4 more days of no answers I finally get a phone call telling me that the transmission is blown, and that it will need to be replaced before I can take possession of the vehicle. I specifically stated at the onset that I wanted to make sure this vehicle did not have any major issues, and after assurances from Sean that it did not I proceeded. Now I'm left with a vehicle that I don't want because at 76,xxx miles it has a blown transmission, and I can only imagine what other issues are going to arise. Stay away from this dealer, and find someone more reputable that will provide an inspection report before purchase. ****Update 10/23**** Jason Chase, my salesperson, has become increasingly combative. The dealership has still not delivered my vehicle purchased over 2 weeks ago. They have reneged on their promise of delivering my vehicle to me, citing my poor review as the reason. They keep pushing back the date my vehicle will be ready citing "short staffing in the service department". I have filed complaints with the state Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau and will be contacting an attorney. Absolutely deplorable and deceptive business practices. ****Update 10/27**** After getting the RI DMV involved and getting assurances that the car will be delivered today at the latest I'm back to getting the run around. The dealership won't give me answers, no one knows if or when my car will be done. I have owned this vehicle for 17 days and have yet to even see it in person. I was told the car was at the Jaguar dealer, 2 hours later I was told the car was in the service department with 3 techs working on it. Constant lies, half truths, and deception. 22 years of buying vehicles and I have never had an experience this bad. The sales managers don't care and don't return calls. The service department doesn't return calls. The owners don't respond. I have no idea how this company stays in business and has positive reviews. Give me my car Lucas Barry!! More
Straight forward service, no beating around the bush and no hassle. Just showed up, knowing what we wanted to see, and they took the time to make sure we saw what we needed and even drove a half hour away t no hassle.
