Well...that wasn't the case. When I arrived, I was greeted by Mike and the car was right in front of me. The entire transaction was more than I expected. Thank you Mike and team for making my day! On August 31st, I visited Capitol Mazda with the intention of purchasing a used 2014 Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid priced at $10,888. This decision was made for my girlfriend's son's transportation needs. However, this seemingly straightforward purchase led to a series of distressing events. Shortly after leaving the dealership, a parking brake warning light appeared, leaving me stranded at an intersection. I contacted Mr. Steve Valentone, our salesperson, who promised to help, but two Toyota employees assisted before he arrived. The warning light disappeared an hour later but reappeared consistently, triggered by various activities. We returned the car to Capitol Mazda, and they attempted to fix the issue by replacing the battery and sensors. However, the problem persisted. On October 16th, the car's battery drained, and the warning reappeared, causing temporary immobilization. The warning persisted on subsequent journeys. Mr. Valentone advised us to contact General Manager Rusty Bumstead for a refund. After returning the car on October 19th, the dealership refused a refund and encouraged us to explore their inventory, which didn't meet our needs. The Prius spent 38 days at the dealership, surpassing the 19 days in our possession. After persistent requests, on October 26, Mr. Valentone informed us that they would pay off the loan. We received a refund of our initial $550 deposit. Despite this challenging experience, Mr. Valentone's dedication and professionalism stood out, and we were satisfied with our sales experience. Our experience with the Prius did not diminish our respect for the dealership, and we promised to return if we found a suitable vehicle on their lot." More
Came to this service center because my Mazda3 Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) was not working properly. The technicians found out that the BSM sensor had been incorrectly installed by the body shop during their Monitoring (BSM) was not working properly. The technicians found out that the BSM sensor had been incorrectly installed by the body shop during their repair of my rear bumper after a collision, so they had to remove the rear bumper to reinstall and calibrate the sensor. While I appreciated their efforts to fix the BSM, I was very disappointed when I noticed an obvious bumper gap that did not exist prior to the service. I had to return to the service center to have them address this issue. After waiting for an hour, they told me that the bumper gap was there already and not a result of their work. That's not true. I am certain the gap was not that big before I brought my car in. But they kept blaming on the previous body shop repair and refused to take any responsibility. The service advisor, James Miller, even admitted that THE GAP WAS NOT NORMAL. Just to make sure, I also asked a manager from another Mazda dealership that I’ve known for years. He confirmed that the gap on my car was bigger than it should be. Then I asked to speak with the manager. What’s more ridiculous was that the manager showed me another new 2023 Mazda3, and said “the Mazda3 I have here also has the same bumper gap.” But the bumper gap on my car was obviously bigger, and the manager just kept insisting they’re the same and refused to do anything about it. I was initially relieved that the BSM was fixed, but how the issue was handled was just unacceptable. Very disappointing. More

I had been looking to buy my first car in the states. I’ve been to several dealers that made me feel like they were just trying to sell me as much as fast as they could, not listening to my concerns and/ I’ve been to several dealers that made me feel like they were just trying to sell me as much as fast as they could, not listening to my concerns and/or budget. Steven Valentone on the other hand helped me a lot and listened really well to what I was looking for. He stayed really laidback, and didn’t force me to buy anything. He just gave me the info about the car that I needed, and stayed in the background while I took my time to make a decision. And I’m happy to tell, the car survived a 5 day roadtrip from northern to Southern California and back! I totally love the car and am just as happy about the chill and relaxed approach that Steven had while selling me the car! Thank you SO much! :) More
I leased my last 3 cars from Mazda and used Giute for last 2. I refered my friend to Giute, and went with her to the dealership and sat with her while she leased her car. As a thank you for the referral, Guite left me a voice-mail saying he was going to give me a free oil change. He's my salesman, he knows I am in a service contract. So I figured it would be in my file to use when my contract finished. It was not. I called to make the appointment, explained what he did and was asked for a bill of sale? No idea what that was. They got Guite on phone, he seemed rushed and not his nor.al friendly Giute who sold mey last 2 cars. I assumed he did what ever was needed for my appointment. I showed up, Jeff checked me in. I waited till it was done, and when checked out asked about the referral gift. I was met with an indignant attitude, spoken to as if I did something wrong, was told he quoted me at beginning the price and since I don't have a bill of sale it didn't exist. I said that is all internal processes that I have no idea about. It is. It my job to know how you do things. What I am hearing is Guite did not follow the rules they have for gifting an oil change. What happened was I was made to feel as I was the person on the wrong. My good deed of reffering a friend who leassed a car was dismissed. All Jeff carred about was making Giute and me out to be wrong. He said he'd check with Giute and I have yet to hear back. The other reason for the review was for my last 3 service appointments. My car only has 29,000 miles. I drive 1 mile to work, and Lodi 2 x a month. At oil change 2, 3 and this one (15,000 miles, 21,000 miles, and 29,000 miles) It was recommended that I get new tires as my tread was low. I had serious issue with that recomendation at 15,000 miles and 21,000. If I need new tires on a new car with such low mileage something is wrong with tires! Each time they ignore me. My trust in their integrity is gone. I love my Mazda. I will continue buying Mazda, just now from any dgdg. I Promise. More
