While we don’t regret passing up the warranties, it’s disheartening to know that BOTH of our rear shoulder seat belts needed to be replaced and were unusable. Both lap belts were nearly shredded and we were afraid of the belts snapping if there were an emergency. We paid nearly $700 to get new belts from a different dealer since Capital Honda said that there was nothing they could do to help us. The seat belts are a serious safety issue and we were shocked that someone would sell us a vehicle in this condition without disclosing the fact that the seat belts were unusable. We were also told that we would be mailed a coupon for a free car wash. We even called the dealership to follow up and confirm our address, reminding the sales rep that we still did not receive the coupon. It has been over 5 months now and we never received it. Apparently it’s not coming. More

Bad experience when shopping for a car I was not impressed with the sales experience I had at Capital Honda recently. Ironically, the new salesman was friendly and professional, while his boss brought in to negotiate an offer was not. We purchased a car the next day from another dealer with no muss or fuss. Funny story, I recounted my experience to a friend who it turns out had just purchased a vehicle recently. He told me he had the same experience at Capital Honda and also went else where to buy his vehicle. Small world. More

Several times after an oil change, there would be noticeable leakage beneath the car, sometimes up to 10 days. I was told that the oil had spilled on the "catch pan" and was dripping. This last time I actually got underneath the car and found the oil pan drain plug was loose, I could remove it with my fingers!! There was no "catch pan" visible!! This is where the oil was dripping from. What would have happened had the plug fallen out??? At 60 k, my wife took it in for an oil change, and they talked her into a transmission flush. One problem, Honda recommends only a drain & fill! "Honda of North America Recommends NOT Flushing Honda Transmissions .... "Flush systems are a popular aftermarket offering these days. These products look impressive and make lots of claims, but American Honda strongly recommends you avoid using them on any Honda vehicle. Here’s why: The maintenance schedule neither requires nor approves of aftermarket • flush systems. * Flush systems take time to do; this adds to your service customer’s wait time. * Flush systems haven’t demonstrated an improvement in vehicle performance or reliability. * Flush systems using solvents may leave solvent in the system you’re flushing. This will dilute the fluid or lubricant and degrade its performance. * Flush systems using filters can filter out vital additives and degrade the fluid’s or lubricant’s performance. This is particularly true for coolant. The car never shifted correctly after that instance. I ran a CARFAX report on my Honda vehicle. Usually this will note all services performed, which is critical when selling your car. It substantiates routine maintenance was completed, unless of course the dealership does not subscribe to this service through CARFAX, which I was told by the service personal at this dealership that they do not subscribe due to cost. Finally, I compared prices for routine service with dealerships in Jackson & Grand Rapids. I found my total cost to drive the extra distance to either of those places would more than be offset by the savings on the service performed. More
Very bad experience with Capital Honda!!! I went to test drive Honda 2016 HRV, but before I was allowed to test drive the sales guy John behaved so rudely with me and was telling me continuous I went to test drive Honda 2016 HRV, but before I was allowed to test drive the sales guy John behaved so rudely with me and was telling me continuously that he is not going to give any discount and he was telling me not to waste his time if I am planning to ask him for any discount and he also asked me that if I can afford to buy car etc. he was also continuously telling me if am buying the car same day then he can spend time on showing me car etc. I would strongly suggest all of you guys never ever plan to do any business with Capital Honda. If you are from Lansing or Okemos please drive 50 miles and go to other dealers. At last I want to say to John the sales guy. You xxxxxxx Should take retirement and instead of being sales guy in car industry you should go and clean bathrooms that job suits you more you xxxxxxx. One suggestion to Capital Honda try to have young sales guy who will have energy and interest . Thanks More
On 2/15/14, I returned the Honda Accord I have been leasing, to the Capital Honda dealership. At the time of leasing the vehicle, the dealership had promised to buy back the 'winter package' that inclu leasing, to the Capital Honda dealership. At the time of leasing the vehicle, the dealership had promised to buy back the 'winter package' that includes genuine winter mats for the car (total ~$426 value). When I returned the vehicle, they refused to buy it back, stating that I did not buy or lease another vehicle from them (Capital Honda). They had given me a paperwork promising to buy the package back. They stated that "the paper implies that I had to purchase or lease another vehicle" from Capitol Honda. The paper does not say anything like that, also, they had not mentioned such requirement at the time of original purchase/lease 3 years ago. More
Anthony Vang was awesome to work with. Excellent online inquiry follow up, worked out a deal that met all criteria for success, and all I had to do was show up and sign paperwork. Service visit on 2003 Accord to replace door weather strips; dealer called to indicate parts were in. After having car all day, service called to say car was ready. At pick up, service explained weath strips; dealer called to indicate parts were in. After having car all day, service called to say car was ready. At pick up, service explained weather strips were used on another car and were not installed. They then explained that the mechanic took the keys home so they had to program a new key (45 minutes). They would not say for sure when they could get back key (complete set, with house and work keys), as the mechanic was out of town and they couldn not reach his "gal friend." Service stated we must come back when keys are located to have original re-programmed. They only thing they offered for all the inconvenience was 10 percent offf on the oil change. <br>This is the worse service I've ever experienced in my 50 years. I would not reccomend Capital Honda to anyone. More
Bought a 2004 Honda Pilot. Everyone at the dealership was friendly and helpful. Even served pizza for lunch. Nick (sales person) very efficient, friendly and low pressure. The car sold itself, Nick made it v friendly and helpful. Even served pizza for lunch. Nick (sales person) very efficient, friendly and low pressure. The car sold itself, Nick made it very pleasant. Three hours later, I drove away in my new car, leaving behind my 98 Explorer that should have won a prize for number of recalls. Honda offered me 800 more for trade in than the Ford dealership I had been doing business with for over 10 years. Thank you Capital Honda. More
