Despite repeated amicable requests to stop sending marketing communications, an FTC complaint, a BAR complaint, and a BBB complaint, this company is STILL sending marketing materials in the mail. We j marketing communications, an FTC complaint, a BAR complaint, and a BBB complaint, this company is STILL sending marketing materials in the mail. We just got a postcard for deals on oil changes, repairs and wheel alignment. Business must be pretty bad. Just know that this company will stop at nothing to try to make a quick buck even if it means screwing you over in the process. For anyone that is interested, I confirmed on 1/8/2025 that Devin Smith no longer works here. Mike Patrick, the service director, also no longer works here (confirmed Oct 2024). Interesting. Where do I even start with these clowns? My wife got a recall notification in the mail back in May 2024 and took her 2003 Honda Accord here for the recall service, for the airbag inflator. They also charged her over $200 for a gas valve cover gasket replacement, which they needed to hold the car overnight to complete. The next day, while driving home from Capital City Honda, the brakes were spongy. Immediately upon getting home, we called Capital City Honda to inform them and the service technician suggested driving the car back for them to take a look. After pushing back, they agreed to call a tow truck to tow the car back to Capital City Honda 2 days later. They held the car overnight again, assured us everything was fine with the brakes despite no evidence of testing/inspection, yet while driving home again, with the brakes still spongy, the brakes failed on Folsom Blvd and the car crashed into a tree, totaling it. Had the car towed back to Capital City Honda again, and after a month of back and forth with Mike Patrick (the service director who no longer works there) we were informed that they would not take responsibility for what happened because (paraphrasing) they didn't work on the brakes. They made an issue of the aftermarket brake pads after the crash, but didn't mention them the first two times they had the car in their possession (for the initial recall repair, and then for the follow-up due to the resulting spongy brakes issue). They also downplayed the severity of the crash by trying to blame my wife for losing control of the car rather than a brake failure, despite the fact that she crashed into a tree on purpose to avoid running a red light with pedestrians in the crosswalk with cars right behind her. When we refused to pick up the car without documentation (at the time of the request the BAR was actively investigating), they then proceeded to have the car towed without prior warning and now a collections agency wants $3,520 for towing/storage charges incurred by the towing company. They are also refusing to provide documentation surrounding the authorization for and circumstances of the tow. All this despite the fact that they didn't provide a multi-point inspection report (the invoice says they did), and evidently didn't test drive the car to try to replicate the issue without involving the customer when it was towed back following the recall repair - Mileage In/Mileage Out on the invoice are the same number. If they did test rather than simply dismiss the concerns and call back the next day saying the car was good to go, I'd have thought they'd be eager to share the details. It's interesting how the General Manager at the time, and the service director and the service technician that worked on the car all no longer work there. Oh also, Capital City Honda is a fictitious business name per Sacramento County. The company's legal name is GPI CA-H, Inc., per the CA Secretary of State, for anyone needing that information. Extremely dishonest company. I would strongly caution anyone against doing business with them. If anything goes wrong, expect them to lie, deflect and avoid contact. Check out their BBB complaint (1/30/2025) and the business' response for more information. You have our contact information because you sent my wife postcards less than 2 weeks ago. More
