So Cal Buying Experience Being new to Southern California, there are so many options for buying cars that it was becoming an overwhelming and highly stressful experience. Afte Being new to Southern California, there are so many options for buying cars that it was becoming an overwhelming and highly stressful experience. After stopping by Capistrano VW and meeting Steve, I knew that I was dealing with a highly competent VW expert with a chilled demeanor. He was not at all "salesy" or high pressure but let me make the decision with his guidance whenever I asked for it. I am very happy with my purchase and experience with Steve and the rest of the team. More
Bad Beetle from the Starrt Purchased a 2013 Beetle in August. Returned it due to undisclosed damage to rear bumper and tail light. Exchanged for 2014 Beetle for $4k more. Door l Purchased a 2013 Beetle in August. Returned it due to undisclosed damage to rear bumper and tail light. Exchanged for 2014 Beetle for $4k more. Door locks didn't work all the time on the new one, and got locked out in dark parking lots at night. Returned three times for service and then discovered that we had been sold a unit that had a Lo-Jack system that was disrupting the electronic function of the car. Dealer will not take the car back, and I'm going to have to sue them. They claim that they don't have any duty to make it right. Claim they "fixed" the problem, but am not willing to risk safety to find out. Suggested that the Sales manager drive the car himself for a week to make sure it wouldn't fail again, and he REFUSED. If he doesn't want to drive it, why should I? He won't take it back because he knows he can't be sure it won't fail in the re-sale process either. So why should I be stuck with a car that I'm not comfortable with because he wants to keep MY money? Reported Dealership to VW of America AND Better Business Bureau. Looking for an attorney to sue them and expose their bad customer service and business practices. VW should yank their franchise. It tarnishes the brand, and reflects badly on VW that allows this kind of behavior associated with the honorable product name. More

Great experience! I had a great experience at Capistrano Volskwagen after a frustrating occurrence at another dealership. I had to turn in my car as my lease was coming I had a great experience at Capistrano Volskwagen after a frustrating occurrence at another dealership. I had to turn in my car as my lease was coming to an end and I was unsure if I was going to get a new lease. I had taken my car to another Volskwagen dealership and they were rude and unfriendly and then continued to call me after I left to pursue me (like i would go back!). I decided to go to Capistrano as I had bought my first car there. I had spoken to Buddy on the phone who was helpful and great and assured me that his partner Steve would take good care of us...and he was right! I turned in my old lease and Steve gave me a good deal with no money down on a new Jetta. We were in and out in a short amount of time! I will definitely come back when my next lease is up. Great experience all around! More
Two faces of vw dealer Everything looked and sound fair until I needed service. ". If anything goes wrong just bring it to us and we will fix it for you". The finance pers Everything looked and sound fair until I needed service. ". If anything goes wrong just bring it to us and we will fix it for you". The finance person told me. When I brought it back for a problem with one of the windows, everything changed. They are not FRIENDLY anymore. I end up bringing the car to another VW dealer only to find out that my warranty expired in February 2014. The car is 2012, has 29K miles. Why is the warranty expired? It has 3 years or 36K miles warranty. It was sold originally in February 2011, the 3 year warranty expired in February 2014. I bought it in December. 2013. I only had 2 months of warranty but no one told me that. Very convenient ... FOR THEM! That is cheating. I will never buy from these people again. More

What ultimately swayed my decision was the professional customer service I received at CAPO Volkswagon and Mike Stieber, in particular. The Ford dealer in Irvine was less than cooperative and did not strive to meet our needs the way Mike did. CAPO Volkswagon and Mike helped me make a great decision. I love my car! More
