But we were extremely disappointed when we learned over a month later that the extended warranty we purchased requires us to take the car to Capistrano Mazda for service, which is 40 miles from our home. This detail was not disclosed to us when we purchased the vehicle and were asked if we wanted to purchase the extended warranty. Had we known this detail, we likely would not have spent the money on this extended warranty. Also we still have not received details on how this warranty actually works - no detailed paperwork, just a phone number to call and a card to carry with us. This has put a sour taste in our mouthes for this purchase. We also purchased the dent protection policy, and then later someone who works for Mazda told us we might have to pay a surcharge to get dents or scratches touched up if it needs painting because we bought a car that has a premium paint color (Soul Red). This also makes us less than pleased. We had a disappointing experience at a different Mazda dealer (plus they required us to go to their dealership in Puente Hills for extended warranty coverage) so we walked out and came to Capistrano Mazda, which had been highly recommended to us.
