My wife and I kept pushing off buying a new car because we didn't want to go through the stress of a big purchase. We knew we wanted a Rav 4 and he gave us all the infomation we needed with no pressure at all. Jay was an absolute pleasure to deal with and I highly recommend that anyone looking to buy a new car to go see Jay. You will not regret it. After agreeing on what we wanted we then had to go see George Matachun Jr who was the business manager. I guess I am the type of guy who expects the worse and boy was I wrong. George went over all the extras with no preasure at all. We did get the 8yr 100,000 vehicle service agreement as was recommended to me by a family member. I was in and out in less than 2 hours. We picked the truck up 4 days later and again Jay was there to guide us. Jay was so good that our daughter will be going to see him in January when her lease is up to get a Rav 4 also. Everyone we met at Rockingham was really nice and very helpful. I can only hope that when the time comes for us to service the truck that the service department is half as good as the sales department. From the first moment that we met salesman, Bob Stabile, he was courteous, friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and professional. He knew all of his products in great detail and could answer most thoroughly any question which we put to him. He was never aggressive or dismissive, always wanting to satisfy us, his customers, in every way possible. In fact, the reason that we jumped from our initial interest in a used Rav4 to a new, Base Rav4 and, ultimately, to a Rav4 Limited edition with many optional extras included. was due to Bob's patience, understanding and non-aggressive approach. Bob has many times encouraged us to speak with him by phone or to even spend time with him at the dealership for further guidance explaining all of the many features of this electronic wonder! That is after his having spent close to an hour already most patiently reviewing with us in detail every feature of our new car. Timothy Leahy, the Finance Director, was most caring and professional as well, explaining in detail to us and advising us of all available options regarding warranties and other programs. We decided on both the Road Block and the eight year extended warranty, the latter which he advised would be a good choice since we are elderly and hope to keep the car for many years. Tim also figured out how to set up our cell phone on the Rav4's Blue Tooth, taking the time away from his own, busy position to do so. We also met Anne, the mamager of Rockingham Toyota, was also most pleasant and greeted us warmly as did Shawn Martin in the Service Department. I believe windshield was cracked due to a manufacturing defect. Mark the service manager agreed that chip off the crack could happen after the crack appeared due to the nature of tempered glass. Resolve was to have a Toyota Representative look at it. Representative would not be in for a week longer then Mark had quoted me. I would have to leave my vehicle to have it looked at becasue I work and if the dealership would not accomodate a "loaner" vehicle, I could rent one from them. When I told Paul that I would have the windshield replace elsewhere and told him that my brand new Rav 4 would not spend a minute in his service shop for the time that I possessed the vehicle his response was "OK". (I had my last car for 10 years). Obviously Rockingham Toyota has no problem losing out on service dollars in the long term. I would also like to mention that due to my service conflict my husband did not think twice to purchase his 2010 Tacoma Sport from another dealership - even though my vehicle purchase from Rockingham was a very good experience. Maybe Rockingham is good at getting you into a car, but not into keeping a long term customer. More

I took my daughter for her car shopping. I only have good things to say about the sales Jay but I am not happy with the finance guy Tim. Jay was friendly throughout our visit and made suggestions as though he was on our side more than on dealer's side. He made sure we would be happy about the deal. There was no pressure whatsoever from him. We test drove two cars and viewed one more. He spent close to two hours with us. I strongly recommend everyone to work with him. There was another friendly and helpful employee we worked with but I did not get his name. When I need to sign the paper, however, the experience was not totally pleasant. First, I was pushed to buy all kinds of "options/extended services, etc". I rejected them all except the Lo Jack. I was told by Tim that this option would cut my daughter's comprehensive insurance by 35%. I roughly went through the math with him and figured I could recover the cost in 2 years. That is NOT TOTALLY TRUE. Later, I found out from my insurance agent that the keyless entry option already gave us 20% off comprehensive. So the actual saving from Lo Jack is only 15%. That means the cost recovery time will be pushed further away. I was not happy at all. At Tim's position he definitely knew this fact. I can only say that he intentionally misled me to buy this option. He was the only employee there at the dealership that I felt was not on my side, unfortunately. More
These folks contacted me when I had a deal in place, ready to go, with a competing dealership. They told me they would price it sharply enough for me to switch- and they did. I was coming from out-of-state to pick it up, and they all stayed late to do the paperwork with me. They treated us exceptionally well and I have NO HESITATION in recommending these folks to anyone!!! More
