I came in for a regular mileage warranty work. The representative that was assigned was named Titus. I arrived on time (7:00 am) and he was late but he was not the original person that was assigne The representative that was assigned was named Titus. I arrived on time (7:00 am) and he was late but he was not the original person that was assigned. He had me open my engine compartment and told me to look. I didn’t see ant problem and he started talking about the battery terminals being dirty. He also said my warranty covered tire rotation but I told him I just bought new tire a week before. He kept telling me how great my warranty was and how he didn't know there were warranties like mine… I told him I paid extra for an extended warranty at Big Two Toyota. I left after completing the paperwork for my warranty work… he then started sending me text telling me about all this other work I needed done. He said I needed an alignment, battery terminals cleaned, ventilation system treated, and fuel cleaner. I told him I was experiencing no problems with my alignment, I had no vibration, no uneven wear on tires and he continued to tell me I needed it. I asked him to explain why… he did not provide an answer at that time and I had asked a few times throughout the day. He said the same thing for the vent cleaning (he talked about mold issues and I said this is Phoenix and that is not usually a problem), the battery terminals cleaned, cleaning and the fuel cleaner. He said he’d been doing this for 15 years and he knew what he was doing. I told him I looked online for the Toyota recommended product and he came back saying what camel back uses I can’t get (I looked it up too… and I could purchase it as well). He kept trying to upsell me while I was waiting for my car… it got to the end of the day. I had looked at the services he was saying needed done and I sent him my research and he still had nothing to say other than it was recommended by Toyota that I do all these things… he said I should have been doing them every twelve thousand miles… no other service agent recommended these items like Titus was doing and my car has over 40,000 miles. Toward the end of the day and not getting any straight answers I knuckled under and said just do it I need my car today. I paid $359 for my regular warranty visit… I was not happy. The next day ((around 4:30) Titus called me and in the back of my mind I was thinking he called to tell me he overcharged me… that was far from what did happen. Titus told me I owed an additional $294 because somehow he calculated the warranty wrong. Aside from him telling me his father just passed he was now telling me he had to get home to his kids and I had to pay this money now. I did not feel I owed anything. I felt he owed me. He kept pushing he had to get home to his kids and I had to pay more money before Toyota would let him go home or he would have to pay… I could not believe what he was saying. I told him to send me an itemized bill of what he was charging me for… he never did. I refuse to be strong armed into paying for something I did not request. I was already pressured into paying the first $359 by my debit card because he said he would charge me another 3% to use my credit card… Spending that much cash at Christmas was unexpected and was a hardship for me…then to be insulted and have him/Titus wanting another $300 like it was no big deal… was the last straw… To say the least this was my worst experience ever… anywhere… not just Toyota… and I’ve been driving Toyotas for over 30 years. More
