Sour Taste Jennifer A. This is a review for Camelback Mazda Jeep and Subaru. Let me start off by saying I rarely have anything negative to say when it comes t Jennifer A. This is a review for Camelback Mazda Jeep and Subaru. Let me start off by saying I rarely have anything negative to say when it comes to the service industry, working with the public is difficult at best. But my experience in my 30+ years of purchasing cars was unacceptable from a customer point of view. It started when we were latched onto by two to three salesman who would not give us a minute to converse, we even walked off property and they still followed us. Then got the 4 square experience at the negotiation table, (look up 4 square under car salesman tactics and you'll understand), the windshield price of the car was $17,495.00, by the time they got through adding dealer incentives, ex. ZakTek the price was $1000 more than the original sticker, and that is after they say they discounted the vehicle $2200. So you then have a $18,495 vehicle that you still have to add tax, title and doc to. We left the dealership Monday the 13th of June, with our car, on Wednesday they called and said they had (4) approvals from the bank and we needed to come in and finalize paperwork, (did all that at 10:30PM on Monday night). We called back 5 times the next two days, couldn't get any return calls. Fast forward to yesterday, the 21st, finally got a hold of Trinity in finance, oh yes come down today and I will meet you on the used car side, (my car is parked there), we arrive at 6:30PM, we are told she is at the other building, Ok, no big deal. We go over, nope you need to go back to used car side across the street and talk to the sales manager, no sign of Trinity, no call, no sorry for the confusion, nothing. Sales manager informs us that the interest rate has gone up 6 points, which of course jumps your payment. Revert back to earlier, we had (4) approvals, ???????. As much as I wanted to walk out I liked and needed a second vehicle, still do. We got within $750 of making a deal and were told that basically we don't need your business that bad, leave the car. At this point we have to call and get a ride, no empathy, no remorse, no nothing from anybody at the dealership. Now I understand it's business, but have we come so far that it is acceptable to just flat out not care about the people that keep you in business. I'm from Midwest originally, (small town), dealerships there could never stay in business with that kind of customer service. I read all the other bad reviews as well and understand where they are coming from. To bad. Very disappointed. More
Great First Car and Used Car Buying Experience Camelback Subaru is absolutely the place to buy a used Subaru. I just graduated from college in May and came in for my first car buying experience. I Camelback Subaru is absolutely the place to buy a used Subaru. I just graduated from college in May and came in for my first car buying experience. I found a used 2015 XV Crosstrek on Cars.com and went into the dealership to test drive it. Kevin, a friendly and fatherly salesman greeted me at the door and immediately grabbed the keys. We took the car for a long test drive, something I had not been allowed to do at other Subaru dealerships in the valley and I was pleased I was able to really get a feel for the vehicle. We went in after the test drive to talk some numbers and I was up front with him telling him I was not going to sign on the dotted line today just as I had to sleep on the big decision. He didn't push, instead said that he had daughters my age and understood the stress and burden that buying a first car can have. He gave me some price sheets to take home and said the offer (and a great offer right at the base of KBB value) would stand when I came back in. I came back in the next morning at 10:30am, asked for Kevin, and bought the car. Camelback Subaru and Kevin made my first car buying experience fun, they put the decision in my hands, and made me feel welcome into the Subaru family. Go in, ASK FOR KEVIN, and enjoy purchasing a Subaru. More

Terrible !!! Don't get me wrong, I love the car I ended up buying but this was the worst process and trust me you can get a car you love anywhere. For one, my cars Don't get me wrong, I love the car I ended up buying but this was the worst process and trust me you can get a car you love anywhere. For one, my cars breaks squeak....and the service light was on. They told me it had just been services but that they would double check and get back to me.....they never did (these are things I am willing to just get fixed.) The things that really ticked me off: 1) They only gave me one key. When I was there they told me they would work on getting me another key and would then mail it to me. Well go figure, once I bought the car that conversation about the 2nd key was suddenly forgotten. 2) They told me what my APR was 6.99% and that this was the best I could hope for. I ended up refinancing through my bank and got a 3.81% APR. They were uncooperative in this re-financing process and did not answer my phone calls. 3) When I was in the waiting room, the financing person came out and told me what the percent for the sales TAX would be. He then took me into his office where the conversation was recorded and had increased the sales tax by about 3%. (Granted, I should have noticed and not signed, but I thought we had covered it in the waiting are....where there was no camera or recording). 4) They charged me an additional 1200 dollars for "window tints and detailing", they agreed to take 300 off from this but ended up not doing so. Basic conclusion...triple read everything they have you sign because they will LIE to you. My best suggestion is, find a car at a different place...at least there you have a shot of being treated fairly and with respect. More

You're just dollar signs. They don't care about you. I have purchased 2 cars from Camelback VW and had good experiences. George sold me the second car and was very pleasant to work with. A week ago, I I have purchased 2 cars from Camelback VW and had good experiences. George sold me the second car and was very pleasant to work with. A week ago, I was in again and looking at trading in my TDI that I purchased from them. They offered me $4500 for a car that I purchased from them a year ago for $15k. When I expressed how I was displeased with it because the VW TDI scandal is the reason the car's value plummeted, they came back saying they could give me $9500 since I've purchased from them twice and they want to maintain that relationship. Today, I was told they could give me $4k and that the manager who told me $9500 a week ago either quit or was fired (conveniently). After some back and forth, they said $5k is the best they can do and They'd get me out the door at $39k in a vehicle on their site for $24,500. So not only do they NOT value the relationships with customers, they have proven that they do not stand behind their vehicles and definitely do not anticipate the VW "fix" to restore value to their vehicles. That said, George was still pleasant to work with and kept trying to get his managers to step up and be an honorable business. I highly discourage people from purchasing a vehicle here, but if you do, buy a used car and get it from George. More
It was almost the greatest car buying experience ever, until Sat down with the business manager who tried to sell me on financing, although I had stated I was paying cash. His financing plan had gap insurance sh Sat down with the business manager who tried to sell me on financing, although I had stated I was paying cash. His financing plan had gap insurance should the car be totaled.....so what's my regular insurance for? Then...he told me the total without going over the bill line by line. After I wrote the check, I got the bill and there was a $2999.00 charge for an extended waranty I did not ask for or want.. I told him to remove it. He then tried again by offering it to me at his cost! $1999.00. He said he hoped I'd brought another check! And there's more.........finally went for a test drive and discovered a spot on the upholstery and dirt on the door panels of both front doors before even pulling out of the lot! There was little explanation of the workings of the car. They paired my phone to the car, but didn't tell me how to answer it. I finally was given my paperwork....crammed in a business size envelope. I asked for a folder and I got one that had been well used! The gentleman who had given me the envelope defended this by saying 'some people like to keep this in the glove box' . Really? All your information is clearly typed! OMG I called to discuss this with Mr. Esposito. Didn't hear back, which was the second time this happened at this dealership. I called again the next day and spoke to Mr. Esposito's rep. She had called back, but not on the number I had lefton my message! She listened. She seemed to defend the warranty inclusion and financing push as letting the customer know all available options. I also let her know of a competing dealership that offers classes instructing new owners. She said I could come in anytime. It's so much easier to have a structured time as opposed to taking the time of the salesman, whose time she so graciously offered. She said she couldn't address other dealership's policies. Wish I'd known that all were not equal. My close friend had just bought a Forrester and told me about the Chandler dealership. It's really far from me, but I wish I had gone. The only positive experience at Camelback Subaru was my, salesman, Dakota Gooch. He was outstanding ! Wish he could have handled the whole transaction! More
Great customer service isn't rare here! I had my previous car for 17 years and wasn't looking forward to visiting a dealer. I'm sincerely grateful that I found Camelback Mazda and everyone I had my previous car for 17 years and wasn't looking forward to visiting a dealer. I'm sincerely grateful that I found Camelback Mazda and everyone who took time to get me into my new car. Angela Tibbot and Ed Trott were excellent - I truly could not have wished for a better pair. They made a long day seem fairly quick and painless. Alex Aaslid was great - good, honest sense of humor and knows his stuff. I'm so happy with my new Mazda! Thank you all! More
The worst experience trying to buy a new car This was the worst experience ever. I was trying to do all the upfront work with the Internet people, but I couldn't get a quote from anyone. Then K This was the worst experience ever. I was trying to do all the upfront work with the Internet people, but I couldn't get a quote from anyone. Then Katie from customer service called to see if I had been contacted by anyone. When I told her that I had not, she spoke to Doug, one of the sales managers. He told her that she could work with me and get the commission because others had dropped the ball. I explained that I would like to be out in an hour and she said that was doable. I loved the Impreza, and while she and Doug were getting the paperwork prepared, in walks finance guy #1. Very tall guy, didn't give me his card. When I told him I needed to be out in twenty minutes, he said, very disdainfully, "Have you ever bought a car before?" I said that I had (I am a middle aged woman after all). He said, it's not like you are buying a shirt. This is the first I have heard you were in a hurry, and we can't get this done in 20 minutes. I told him to get every thing ready and I would be back the next day. I never had one person call me, so I called Katie. She said they didn't know why I had left. Why the finance guy would not share this info is beyond me. The second finance guy was completely in my face, yelling at me that I had to go get a cashiers check. At this, I rolled my eyes because I could have come in with one had I known they would not take a check. This man sad to me, " You can roll your yes all you want, lady, but that's how it's going to work. I asked to speak to the general manager, waited about 30 minutes, when some lady showed up and asked me if there was a reason I couldn't go get a cashiers check. I told her there was not but I wasn't going to spend my money at her store. She didn't seem to care. I then went to Chandler superstore to buy my Subaru, and they were incredible! I will never ever go to this store again, and I will share my story with everyone I meet. What I would like to sa is that Katie and Doug were great, so was Santos. They work way too hard to have such idiots for finance people. Maybe those goofs should have some people skills. More
