I called this dealership to see if they had availability to take my car for a check engine light. Travis asked when I wanted to take the car in, and I said I wanted to bring it in that day. He said “any time today”, and I asked when he had availability. Travis said “I’m open all day”. I said I’d bring it in by 10am. When I brought the car into the shop, he had me sign a document then said it would take 5 hours before they could even provide an update, never mind a resolution. This information should have been provided when I called. A simple “I can take the car any time today, but it may be a few hours before we have an update” or even if he offered a rental car the moment he said “it will take 5 hours” would have been nice. Instead, he just said it would take hours and didn’t provide any additional information or direction. I was going to call a Lyft or Uber, but was upset so I went back to the desk to ask for a voucher or free ride. He immediately provided it. Why was that not offered at the time of the initial phone call or the discussion in the dealership? He knows I drove my car there, and he knows he didn’t provide any timeline prior to dropping it off, and then he didn’t offer a ride once he took it. So how does he expect me to get home? Or back? More
