First, but definitely not the last The experience of buying a car was a first for me...and I am 35 years old. I have been fortunate that I have had jobs that provided me with a company The experience of buying a car was a first for me...and I am 35 years old. I have been fortunate that I have had jobs that provided me with a company car, been able to borrow a car from my parents in interim periods, or most recently had a father in law who was kind enough to bequeath us my mother in law's old vehicle. However it was time for my wife and I to take the plunge a get our first car. Check that, minivan. We are welcoming our third child into our family in September and a minivan just made the most sense, and the Honda Odyssey was exactly what we needed. Our search for the perfect vehicle began about 6 months ago when we found out my wife was pregnant. We knew we had time to research and pick the perfect vehicle for us, so I searched in most of my free time through cars.com, eBay, Auto Trader, and several other sites looking for "the one". It wasn't until recently that we had the resources available to us to make the purchase and we knew that time was of the essence. We live in SC and I commute to MD during the week to work. This gave us a 500 mile stretch of area to search. I found that the DC Metro area had the largest selection of Odysseys, but found out the hard way they had the worst customer service and willingness to make a deal. I contacted around 8 dealerships trying to make deals and even went to visit 3 in person hoping to drive off in an Odyssey, but it wasn't in the cards. They were - understandably so - in it for the bottom line and not the building of a lifetime customer relationship. Dealt with like a number, passed around like a rag doll, and every car sales trick and technique in the book was used to try to get me to purchase a vehicle for much more than I wanted to or was even necessary for them to make a good profit. Even telling them point blank "this is what I have for a car" didn't deter them. Several times I was laughed at, other times I was told "this isn't how it works" when in actuality I knew that it did and could work like that. When I thought all hope was lost I decided to look in one more area I drove through on my way home to SC, that area being Richmond, VA. There at Colonial Honda in Chester, VA I found "the one". It was a tad out of our price range, but I knew I had nothing to lose by stopping in to look at it, especially after the way my dealings had gone previously. I walked in to the dealership without an appointment during a very busy time for them. It was chance that I was paired with my new hero, sales consultant Charlie Jones. I had walked into the wrong end of the dealership so was passed over by several consultants that believed I was already being helped. When I went to inquire as to if there was someone I could speak with, Charlie and who I believe to be one of the sales managers were standing there. The sales manager asked Charlie to work with me to which his response was "I have an appointment coming in, but they're not here yet. I'll be glad to help." Had it not been for his late customer, I would not have left with he perfect vehicle for my family, and would not have had the extreme pleasure of working with and getting to know Charlie. Charlie was unlike any other car salesperson I had encountered in that he cared more about making sure I had what I wanted in a vehicle rather than making sure I left with any vehicle. Fortunately for both of us I knew what I wanted and I knew what I had to get what I wanted. After a short period of negotiations, Charlie and the sales team made it happen. Not once did I feel pressured. Not once did I feel like anything less than an equal. I was comfortable the entire time I was there and knew that I wasn't being taken advantage of. The feeling I had when leaving there in our new Certified 2012 Honda Odyssey EX-L was great! I left feeling like part of the Colonial Honda family and I hate that I do not live any closer so I could stop in occasionally just to say hello, because Charlie and the rest of the Colonial staff are definitely those type of people. When the time comes again to shop for a vehicle, new or used, I will begin my search with Colonial! More

I had picked out the car I wanted on the internet My experience with Colonial Honda was very good. Richard Miller was wonderful to work with. I had picked out the car I wanted on the internet. When I pushed the button that sent my request to dealers, Colonial Honda came back with the best offer for a base car. I was very happy with the offer. Richard contacted me over the internet, and we were able to set up a meeting. The offer was so good that I expected the offer to change when I showed up in person. When I got there we did a test drive ("Get Acquainted Ride"). I was happy with the ride so I said I would take one if he had the color I wanted. They only had a car with Navigation in my color. When I asked for the internet price I was able to get an extra $300 off of the internet price if I took that car. As I really liked the higher priced car better, I took the deal. We then did the accessories that I wanted. I was very happy with the discount I was to given for these. I then purchased the car. The car was ready on the day and time I ask to pick it up. The closing process was easy with no pressure to add on other things. After the purchase, Richard spent a great deal of time helping us set up all of the electronic options and teaching us how to use them. We would highly recommend Richard and Colonial Honda to our friends. More

We were on the Colonial Honda lot at 9:45 pm and was greeted by a very friendly man. He stayed with us instead of going home and we looked at the choices. THANK GOD we returned to see Tom Farlow and purchased a CRV. WE LOVE IT!!!! He and the whole team made the process so easy and stress free. WHAT A GREAT GROUP OF PEOPLE!!!! This is our first Honda and I can tell you that for us there is only 1 dealership for us now and it is Colonial Honda!!! A BIG shout out to Tom and the GREAT group that is there. Amazing Trade In Experience with Jimmy I must say that my experience trading my CRV for an accord with Colonial Honda was awesome. Jimmy Monger, my sales person was great at organizing and I must say that my experience trading my CRV for an accord with Colonial Honda was awesome. Jimmy Monger, my sales person was great at organizing and planning my experience so that when I arrived to the dealership the car I chose had been picked out and Jimmy was ready to assist us. I ended up changing my mind on the car of choice which was not an issue in the end. I left the dealership that day with the car of my choice, warranties and an amazing deal that wouldn't have been possible anywhere else.
