Typical salesmen Just purchased a vehicle and drove it for a few days. Found some pretty major issues and was told they have a great mechanic who works on "exotic cars Just purchased a vehicle and drove it for a few days. Found some pretty major issues and was told they have a great mechanic who works on "exotic cars." Of course they do, they will tell you anything to make a sale. Anyhoo, there is no exotic mechanic and they sent me to Term Auto in Gloucester who is denying all of our complaints. Even the engine light, light we can fake an engine light. They states that "jim" has been driving the car regularly and the light never came on. They had the mechanic "reset" the light and wouldn't ya know, it's back on. It apparently is the catalytic converters which they refuse to fix. My inspection is up in 2 months and will not pass inspection with this issue. Also, told them about a banging in the rear that is plain as day, took 3 calls to the mechanic for him to actually drive the care to find that there is in fact banging, sure they wont fix that either. Squeaking in the front and back, probably brakes, no big deal. but the mechanic denies hearing that also; however, it sounds awful driving it. All in all I would say they are "typical, do what it takes to make the sale because once it leaves the lot its not our problem" salesmen. I wish I would have never purchased this car and glad to know that it was "beat" on a regular basis by Jim. Guess he parked if after discovering or causing all the problems! More

Tickle his ears, he'll go away! Recently, I purchased a used pickup from C. W. Clarke. I was assured that they would do the right thing by me. I test drove the truck and thought that I would do well buying it. It is a nice truck but does have a few bugs which I was aware of. e.g. It would need struts soon, there was a tear on the roof window seal, a missing rear door lite lens, minor things. The truck was not prepped for sale as it should have been; it was very dirty in fact. The pollen count was off the scale at that time and everything had a yellow coating on it, this year it was especially bad. You would think that a dealership as good as the salesman professed it was would at least do a professional job cleaning it. I washed the truck the following day and the problem jumped out at me. I was anxious and unfortunately, there was a major problem that I informed the salesman about the day after the sale. There was a very large bubble on one of the tires. The salesman lied and stated that we had both inspected the tires together. (That is not true at all; hope his new son isn’t lied to like this down the road.) I repeatedly called the dealership no response; in fact they blocked my number. I did however return a post card that they had sent to me expressing their thanks for buying from them. About a month after sending the card back to them. A fellow contacted me they didn’t want any negative responses to purchases. I was again assured that the owner would make it right. To shorten the story I had to put out almost $200.00 for a new tire. I just want to make everyone out here in the internet world to be very careful when dealing with C.W. Clarke. They are not as reputable as they think they are I could have had a very serious wreck because of their unscrupulous practices. I am a retired disabled vet and want to make everyone aware of the inappropriate manner in which C. W. Clarke functions. More
