Prior to this purchase I would have given Byers Volvo a five. I have been dealing with Byers Volvo since the mid-1980s and have always had an excellent experience. I have always purchased new cars but this five. I have been dealing with Byers Volvo since the mid-1980s and have always had an excellent experience. I have always purchased new cars but this is my first experience with a used car. My timing was poor as the person in charge of used cars was on vacation. It shouldn’t have made a difference but maybe it did. I was on a very short time frame as my car has been totaled and the insurance company gave me a deadline. I had done my research online and only wanted to look at two cars on the Byers lot. I dealt with a young lady who really couldn’t answer my questions but handled my test drive. She told me she would find out the answers to my questions and email me. I still don’t have those answers or an email. I chose a car and told her I would be back in two days to pick it up and in the meantime would expect an email. When I went back two days later I still had no answers. When the sales person (different than the person I had talked with two days prior) handed me the keys I was quite surprised to find out that there was only one set of keys for the car. Who sells a car with only one set of keys? He told me I could buy a new set for $400! I paid cash for the car and they seemed almost upset that I didn’t have a trade-in. I felt like the finance guy was condescending because I’m a woman. When all of the transaction was completed I went out to get in my car and it had obviously been washed and the tires have been cleaned. I got inside and familiarized myself with enough of the dashboard to drive home. When I arrived home, I looked everything over and realized how filthy the car was on the inside: greasy fingerprints on the glove box, dirt all over the leather, dried food and liquids on the leather, dried up drinks in the cupholders, dog hair on the black rugs and seat backs, food between seats and under seats, candy wrappers and other trash under seats. The black rubber mats had been put in the front seat and the second seat but the third seat rubber mat was folded and thrown in the very back along with some kind of waxy paper that looked like it had come off stickers or some thing from the car. Oh, and I paid $20,000 plus for the car and they send me home with a quarter tank of gas. That’s never happened before. Whether I bought a used car or a brand new car I’ve always gone home from the dealership with a full tank of gas. My children think I should’ve returned to the dealership and asked them to detail the car but instead I did it. Especially in this day and age of Covid I was not comfortable with such a dirty car. I will think twice before dealing with Byers Volvo used cars again. More

The Sales Manager was horrible. The sales person (Courtney) was awesome, even the finance guy was awesome (he want to touch base on extended warranties and finish the paperwork). After buying my Passat, the plan was to return with my wife to upgrade our SUV. NOT GOING HAPPEN!! After negotiating the price for the Passat, I was told I could not use any outside financing. I decided to purchase the vehicle with cash instead of using their financing. First I was told I could not use my card and I had to get a cashiers check, no problem. But for the first time in over 30 years of buying cars, no handshake or congrats nothing from the sales manager, even though he walked pass us several times. NEXT, the car was supposed to be ready for pick up the next day by noon, then I got a text stating closer to 3pm. Then I was told closer to 5pm. That was terrible for me since I was leaving to go out of town. I had requested for the tank to be full. Courtney said it would be. When I arrived just at before 6 pm to pick up my fully paid for vehicle, it had slightly more than a 1/4 tank of gas!! The next day I received a text from Courtney the sales person stating that the MANAGER said only 1/2 tank of gas. It wasn't even close to a half tank of gas lol. That lack of professionalism is easily the worst experience I ever had buying a car. ONE person ruined my buying experience when everyone else was fantastic! More
