I was surprised and happy to see Jim Hedges greet me as I walked in. He sold my my first Jetta. What a great experience I had and have been hooked on VW ever since. His honesty and knowledge about the cars are awesome qualities. He showed me all my options and answered all of my questions thoroughly. I ended up purchasing a 2017 Jetta that day and could not be more happy! More
Falsified credit scores so I'd spend more $$$$ Ran my own credit before car search began. Looked at offers from different dealerships, decided on a Volkswagen. Byers Volkswagen said my credit sco Ran my own credit before car search began. Looked at offers from different dealerships, decided on a Volkswagen. Byers Volkswagen said my credit score was 72 points lower than every other dealer and my own records. Byers told me I me that my monthly payments would be higher because my credit scores put me in a less favorable bracket or I would have to put down a larger down payment. When I contacted a couple of Consumer Credit Action groups to try to understand how my credit score could have dropped 72 points over a couple of days, I was informed it had not. Presenting consumers with lower credit scores is a common practice used by untrustworthy car salesmen and dealerships in order to sell cars for more money. More
NO WAY! I asked to speak with the sales manager so I could follow up while I'm there. He was out of the office, so I was referred to JT Masters who, coincidentally, is the one who originally sold me my car and didn't deliver on the promise of alternate wheels being put on my car. When I asked about the status of my wheels, he said they won't even be attempting to take care of the issue anymore and "are done with it". I said it would've been nice for someone to clue me in on that, and his response was that bc I left a negative review on FB, they aren't interested in working anything out with me further. So rather than trying to rectify the situation, that way I can change my review to a more positive one, Byers admittedly will not be following through on anything BECAUSE I left an honest review of my experience. The cherry on top was my car not being washed after the oil change and inspection, with the explanation of the car wash breaking an hour ago... as I watched both a Porsche and a Subaru come out of said "broken" car wash looking shiny and clean. August 2015: If I could rate Byer's a 0, I would. Bought my BRAND NEW, loaded beetle convertible from JT Masters in Oct 2014. Since then I have had nothing but problems. My car was purchased on the condition that I was receiving a new set of rims (who puts faux chrome, plastic hubcaps on a $33,000 car?!), but almost 12 months later I still don't have anything. It takes several emails and phone calls just to have someone get back to me, and nothing but excuses from everyone I've spoken with when you do finally get someone on the phone. Problems with my brakes started a few days after driving my NEW car off the lot. Was told by Bruce in the Service Dept, who lacked any bit of customer service whatsoever, that my issue was "normal wear and tear" and not covered under warranty, despite having never even laid eyes on my car. Brand new also means no wear or tear has occurred yet, obviously. Issues with my auto convertible top not going up and down properly before 10,000 miles. Fought to get it into service for my brakes and top and fought to get a loaner car that didn't cost me $20 per day. Two days later they say they couldn't find an issue with either, so I ask for the manager above to call me back. Less than 5 minutes later I receive a voicemail, not from upper management like I asked, telling me they found the issue and will call me when it's ready. Go figure. Pick up my car, neither the brake issue, nor auto top issue had been rectified, but management was gone for the day so tough luck. Considering the hours worth of phone calls it took me to even get it into service, I gave up. A few weeks ago my AC stopped working correctly, consistently blowing really warm air for several minutes at a time on and off regularly. This morning my start button pricked my finger to the point of drawing enough blood to require changing bandaids 3 times in 35 minutes. It appears that the sticker on the button is peeling off, causing a sharp spot. Less than a year later with under 14,000 miles and I have problems with my brakes, auto top, AC, and start button, STILL don't have new rims, and have logged no less than 10 hours on the phone with them. I could not regret this purchase any more if I tried. Byer's is a nightmare of unfulfilled promises, absolutely terrible customer service, and far less than thorough management. Save yourself the headache and go to MAG. More
Amazing customer service I dealt with Sean from the time I started looking for a 2015 Golf R. He told me no more would be available but he took down my info and promised to call me when he heard about 2016's. What do you know. He called the very day he first got word on them, long before actual release. I worked with him on what I wanted, and as difficult to come across as they are, he got me EXACTLY what I wanted. A 2016 in LSG with a DSG. He answered every single question, helped along the way, and I still talk to him to this day. Great guy to work with. So was Tony in the credit department. I'll never go anywhere else for VW/Audi, even though Byers is two hours away from me. More

Iam very very thankful I Byers imports is the best place to go to buy or lease a car. The staff their is very friendly and they helped me out alot. Iam very very thankful I went their and got 2 new cars . The first car I got was a 2015 jetta I was in a really really bad car accident just after 3 weeks of getting the car . It was crushed completely totaled. The car saved my life! I walked a away with a couple bruises every air bag went off I was scared but my car made me feel safe knowing that all the safety features went off and I only walked away with some bruising. Then I sent a picture of my old car to my favorite salesmen at byers and he said "WOW GLAD YOUR SAFE " . The next day I went into byers and got another jetta because I know that they are safe. I really really like the staff here I would recommend this place to anyone on search for a new car . Thank you Byers !!!! More

We repaired what was called a minor dent and it didn't solve the problem. The service manager tried to blame the dealership that sold me the car "He asked me why do you think they would sell you a car that has theses problems". I would never take my car to byers. I w to Baltimore) in a 2005 VW Jetta, when I had an unexpected breakdown. My coolant reservoir had broken and was leaking coolant/water everywhere. I was stuck in Nowheresville, Ohio, about 40 miles east of Columbus. I had my AAA tow-driver take my car to Byers, the only place "close-by" that could possibly have the replacement part. I explained my situation to Ryan, who found my broken reservoir in Byers' inventory immediately. He hi-fived me in excitement to know that I might have a shot in getting back on the road in hours (as opposed to days). My car was serviced and road-worthy in 2 hours...complete with a fresh car-wash, to boot. Upon paying my bill, I was touched to find out Ryan had took it on as his personal mission to get me back on the road ASAP. It was nice to know he was as concerned about getting me home as I was. As sad as it is to say, it is a rarity to find a service professional who genuinely cares. Byers' service was reasonably priced, and its waiting area had complimentary coffee, free wi-fi, working vending machines, comfy chairs, and DirectTV for the comfort of its customers. I highly recommend Byers to any car owner. And, I highly commend Ryan for his exemplary customer service. All-in-all my catostrophic break-down only cost me 5 hours total, at a minimal cost. Considering this all happened on a Saturday morning, my results could have (and maybe should have) turned out much more costly. More
I have had a very frustrating experience with this dealership all the way from purchase through my service experiences. After making the deal on the car, and while waiting for paperwork to be prepared dealership all the way from purchase through my service experiences. After making the deal on the car, and while waiting for paperwork to be prepared, I was told that the car that I had selected "had already been sold." I ended up selecting the same vehicle in a different color, and was offered a gift card as compensation for my trouble. By the time this had all been sorted out, it was dark outside, and I took delivery about half an hour after closing time. The next morning, when I went to take a look in the car, I saw a dent above the wheel well. I took the car back to the dealership, and to their credit, Byers had it fixed. I should have never been delivered a car with a dent though, and the delivery inspection report should not have indicated that there were no issues with the body. With regard to the gift card, I have not seen it to this day, and I gave up chasing it as I felt that I was constantly being given the run around. After having the car for a couple of weeks, I noticed a cosmetic defect in one of the door handles. I brought the car back in, and was told that a part would be ordered and that I would be notified when it arrived. A couple of months later, I had not heard anything. I made an appointment with the service department regarding the handle, and when I arrived for my appointment, I was told that I did not have an appointment despite having an email confirmation. They ended up looking at the car, and said that "I never brought it back in, so they returned the part." I was never given a call about the part having arrived. I was told the part would be reordered, and that I would hear from them when it arrived. Several weeks passed, and I heard nothing from Byers. It took a negative survey review filed with VWOA for me to finally get a call. The door handle was eventually fixed satisfactorily. My experience with an otherwise good car has been soured by a poor dealership experience. I feel that I no longer mattered once I drove the car off the lot. All the positive reviews about Byers made me okay with paying a little more than I wanted to for this car, but I have learned the hard way that Byers is like the rest. They pretend to offer a higher level of customer service up until the point you write them a check. This was my first purchase of a VW, and it will probably be only one, not because of VW's product, but because of the ownership experience its dealers provide. More
