Routine check up Went in to have a new battery put inmy Dodge journey. When I got out of my vehicle we noticed a burning smell. Realizing it was a brake caliper. Selenoid problem I called Tuesday morning to see how soon I could get my car in for service and was pleased to learn to they could fix my car already on Thursday. extremely disappointed I have had to take my vehicle to my personal mechanic. Last year they told me I needed new brakes, front & back. I bought the brakes & took them to I have had to take my vehicle to my personal mechanic. Last year they told me I needed new brakes, front & back. I bought the brakes & took them to my mechanic because it's way cheaper than buying thru the dealership. My mechanic told me I had 20,000 miles left on the front brakes & 15,000 on the back, I had him put on the new rotors & brake pads anyway. On Friday 9-21-18, I had my vehicle in for an oil change & tire rotation at Brutness', the service manager came out & said my rear left brake pad is down to 3%, my caliper is seizing & my rotor is worn out. I don't believe my rotor is worn out, it's not even a year old. I'm not sure about the caliper, but I was quoted a price of $490.00 + tax. I can buy a brand new caliper for $125.00, needless to say I am not having any more work done at Brutness, other than a oil change, maybe. They have tried to many times to scam me out of money. I never ever had this problem when the dealership belonged to Zingg. I would never recommend this dealership for anything. If I didn't have the lifetime warranty on my Dodge Grand Caravan I would never go back. More
