I felt like the oil change was a little pricey. They suggested I do a brake flush which was unnecessary and cost an additional $200! They also told me it would take 30 to 45 minutes and I waited over an hour and a half and cost an additional $200! They also told me it would take 30 to 45 minutes and I waited over an hour and a half More

There seems to be a culture of dishonesty and a lack of integrity throughout the dealership. They effectively tried to scam me and I fear they may have scammed the person who came in to buy the car after me. People like this tarnish the reputation of used car dealers everywhere. 1/08/21: I called to inquire about a used car listed at $5000 (Price Reduced from $6000!). Kelly blue book listed the car at $4200. I spoke to one person from sales and one person from finance, who said the car had been fully inspected, was in great shape, and that I could come test drive it and take it home that day. Instead, I scheduled a pre-inspection (an absolute must if buying used from these guys) for Monday the 11th. They scheduled me for a 10:30am appointment to pick up the car and said they would have the car prepped and ready for me to drive to the pre-inspection. I did not get this person's name. My mistake. 1/11/21: I show up at 10:30 to pick up the car. Cindy (in sales) checked me in and went to grab the car for me to take to the pre-inspection. However, the manager Mike (tclaggett@buriennissan) came back instead to update me on the new situation. The in house mechanic was working on the car and had it on a lift. They claimed that there was a small issue with the rear view mirror being dinged by the guy who sold it (he was an older man) and that they were not sure it was safe to drive. He said it would be 30 minutes until the service department was done with their inspection and they were sorry for my wait. I was obviously not happy with this as it was a clear indication that they had lied on the phone (Mike's voice was very similar to the person I spoke to on the phone). Mike claimed that he had just taken gotten to the dealership 3 days ago and taken over a bad mess. He was sorry that the two previous people had lied to me and said he couldn't do anything about that. He offered to pay for my cab ride to compensate me for my lost time and gave me his email to send my cab receipts. (As of a week later, he never followed through on any of this, and I seriously doubt he ever will). I decided to wait anyway since I already had an appointment with a third party mechanic to inspect the car. I told Mike that when their service department was done, I would like to see the inspection report. He did provide this to me, and it showed an estimated $5000 worth of work that was marked "critical". Mike and the sales manager Oscar both assured me that of that work, only a few things were actual safety critical and that they would fix those (the rear view mirror and the ABS sensor). They later added the rear brakes to this list, but reiterated the steering rack and pinion replacement was not necessary and that was the "majority of the quoted repair cost at $1300" (it was only listed on the form as a $700/$5000 cost). They also launched into a poorly rehearsed bit about how great a car it was. Mike: "It's a great car. The guy took great care of it. And he's a seahawks fan so I trust him". Oscar: "The old lady who sold it to me cried when she dropped it off". The whole thing was rehearsed terribly and was obviously a BS story. When you buy there, they may do a better job with their rehearsals, but the story will probably still be BS. I negotiated the price down to $3000 IF they were to do the repairs and a third party mechanic agreed with their assessment. Long story short, the third party mechanic found $8000 in critical repairs and strongly suggested that I not buy the car as it was not safe to drive. When I got back to the dealership I informed Oscar that I would not buy the car and that the mechanic claimed it was not safe to drive. He said Oscar: "Oh well I'm on the phone with the other buyer right now and he wants to buy it if you don't." Me: "Are you going to tell him about everything wrong with the car" Oscar: "I told him exactly what I told you" (The only repairs necessary are the ABS, passenger side mirror, and rear brakes). I fear the guy after me bought a totaled car that isn't safe to drive. This was my first experience buying a used car. Since then I've been to a couple other dealerships who have much better integrity and honesty. Buyer beware at Burien Nissan. (I also suspect a lot of the names they gave me were fake). More
