So we took it to Burien Nissan. They said we needed a new on-board charger, for which they wanted to charge us $3100. They also said our car needed 8 other things, to bring the total, including shop fees and tax, to $5028, which is more than the car is worth. We were stunned, took our car to High Road Automotive, and independent shop in Ballard, and they repaired the charging port (which they said was scorched from a short) for $1100, which fixed the problem. We then went to Foreign Car Workshop for the rest of the flagged areas, most of which they said weren't even necessary or had clearly already been done, and paid $326. So less than $1500 vs $5,000. I know dealerships have a reputation for high fees, but this is really unconscionable, and I wonder whether it was because my wife brought the car in and they thought they could take advantage of her. Needless to say I'll never take another car to Burien Nissan again. More
Low pressure sales. Very accommodating. Car was clean and condition was excellent. Sales person Cindy Gonzalez was very helpful and Oscar negotiated the deal fairly. Very accommodating. Daisy and her team claimed I needed services I’d had done the month before at my actual mechanic, and claimed I needed service my mechanic had not noted as an issue, to a cost of about $2000. So, they’re lia the month before at my actual mechanic, and claimed I needed service my mechanic had not noted as an issue, to a cost of about $2000. So, they’re liars. In addition to that, a 2017 Sentra demonstrating classic signs of transmission failure (which Nissan has lost a class-action suit about), which is under warranty by both mileage and in-service date can’t possibly be failing because it’s not throwing any codes, and they would like to pretend it’s not visibly failing, which it is. The service is atrocious - they don’t return phone calls and claim they sent you messages when they didn’t, and of course I find the lying offensive. I look forward to taking this further with Nissan, the NHTSA, the state AG, and the BBB, and of course if the transmission fails before Nissan replaces it, my lawyer. Perhaps I can be the lucky complainant who forces them into an involuntary recall of the CVT transmission. I will never purchase another Nissan, in part because of the poor quality of this one, and in part because of this treatment. All further pursuit of a warranty remedy will absolutely not happen at Burien Nissan. More
