This car is incredible, I am getting 30 miles to the gallon driving around town, and my payment doesn't make me feel like I'm paying a mortgage payment in order to drive it. Our salesman, Jonathan Pace, was polite, friendly and very knowledgeable with all of the vehicle models we were interested in. They placed an outstanding value on our trade-in and a great price on our new Optima. We didn't feel as though we were being pressured into buying a vehicle like we have experienced at other dealerships. My wife is in a wheelchair and we needed a car with a big trunk. He showed me three optimas but with 25+thousand miles on them. I picked one for him to run the figures on but in the process James Hammond mentioned a car with 13 (K) and leather interior that had just been traded. I saw it and knew it was the one I wanted. They ran the numbers. I slept on it a night. I came back the next day and they met my price and I drove it home that night. Sam and those he brought into the trade were very professional, knew their cars, and pleasant to talk to. I'm surprised that I brought without visiting more dealers as I have several close friends at others car places. I also bought the first extended warranty in my life. My husband and I came in back in August to look at vehicles and we were in a situation where we needed two vehicles and we did have an old ford to trade in. I've been asked several times now to review the Bulldog Kia dealership and my experience when purchasing my car. I fear that my review will be seen as harsh compared to the glowing reviews found on this si Kia dealership and my experience when purchasing my car. I fear that my review will be seen as harsh compared to the glowing reviews found on this site so I've been reluctant to share my honest review. I'm struggling with this because, overall, I'm satisfied with my experience and very happy with my new-used car. Seriously, I'm thrilled with my decision! It makes it doubly difficult because everyone I encountered was extremely friendly. However - and here is the brutally honest bit - some of the tactics used were pretty underhanded, in my opinion.....not that I'm saying they were more so than any other dealership out there. I really don't know because I've never gone through the entire process of purchasing a car from a dealership until now. I recognize that a business needs to make money but I see a difference between making an honest dollar and attempting to or successfully taking advantage of people. I feel like some of the tactics used during my experience were definitely more the later than the former. Here's a list of some of the things used on me during my experience: -Puts a piece of paper in front of me with "280" written on it with no other relevant information. I asked what "280" means and what makes it up. That lead to.... -Salesman takes me into finance guy's office to explain the number I was shown. He rapid fires numbers at me that don't add up. How did I know this? I had a friend with me (unplanned) who was using their cellphone as a calculator while the finance guy was focused on talking at me. -When I finally said I wanted to _see_ the numbers, I found $1800 for a warranty. I told them I didn't want the warranty and was quickly told it was "included in the price". The price of the car was not adjusted in this form to include the warranty. It was ON TOP of the price of the car. When I again asked for it to be removed, the price of the car changed to $1800 more than advertised on the car in the lot. When I pointed this out, he finally removed the $1800 entirely from the form. Would I buy from them again? Sure. I feel like I was able to pay attention enough to not get completely taken and I'm aware of what to look out for. Would I send others to buy a car from them? Sure. I’ll share my experience to make them aware of what to look out for when wanting to purchase a car from this dealership or any other. In all fairness and to give them well deserved recognition, they took care of everything the mechanics suggested which included giving me a new set of tires. I was ready for a gotcha cost but they didn't charge me for anything related to the tires. That was a very pleasant surprise. Again, I’m very happy with my Kia. More
