Dan was very forth right and got right back to me via email with all the facts needed for me to make an acquisition with confidence. As for Andy, he kept in touch with me for x2 weeks as I looked at other cars at other locations. Andy was very polite and not a pushy sales person, which I really appreciated. The purchase went smooth and Andy was very up front about everything. Since the car was only on the market for only 2 days when I bought it they had not had a chance to do any initial inspection so I was told to bring it back in a few days at my convenience. When I went back to pick it up everything turned out great except for the brakes. Well, to their promise they took care of it at no charge to me. Wow what a bonus! Bait and Switch I was in the process of purchasing a new car at Buerkle Acura and requested that several accessories be installed on the car prior to delivery. All of I was in the process of purchasing a new car at Buerkle Acura and requested that several accessories be installed on the car prior to delivery. All of these accessories are prominently listed in at least three places: A 2016 RDX (model) brochure of “Acura Genuine Accessories” available on several counters, a pricelist supplied by the dealer of “Acura RDX 2016 Accessories”, and at the “Acura E-Store” listing for this dealership. I also asked for, and received, confirmation from the salesperson that the requested accessories would be genuine Acura OEM. After I picked up the car I noticed that one of the accessories was incorrectly installed and inquired as to why this might be. The sales manager got back to me and stated that the accessory was not Acura OEM and had been installed by a third party. When I asked why the reply was that the dealership felt the item was of “superior quality” (dealerspeak for “higher profit”) and that they had had been doing things this way “for years.” So, we have a situation where the dealer basically pulled a bait and switch, installing an accessory I did not request without my knowledge or permission. I did not even know the other accessory was available, there was no mention of it and it was listed nowhere I could find. I find this practice dishonest and deceptive and certainly well beneath what is generally regarded as a quality dealership. I can’t help but wonder what other corners were cut in the interest of making a couple extra bucks worth of profit while cheating the customer out of what he/she bought and paid for. Is this dealer to be trusted? More
