I was leasing an Avenger from Chrysler that I originally leased from Buchanan and that experience in 2007 was not a good one so i was hesitant to go back but I did. I was much more satisfied with the exper leased from Buchanan and that experience in 2007 was not a good one so i was hesitant to go back but I did. I was much more satisfied with the experience this time around. Max was the salesman I dealt with and he was friendly and made me feel comfortable. I told him what I wanted and he didn't hesitate to get me moving in the right direction. He wasn't full of bullshit and didn't try to sell me something I didn't want. The Wizard (the finance guy - don't know his name) was also great to deal with. He was very friendly and talkative to us during the process of getting all the paperwork signed. We were in and out fairly quickly and I left with exactly what I wanted and at the right price. My only suggestion for this dealership would be a new paint job on the inside and some new desks and chairs. The place does appear to be straight out of 1970 but the service was great. I would also give kudos to their service department and lube center. They are always very friendly on that side also and are part of the reason I decided to give this dealership another chance. More
Jay Lucas was our salesperson. He greeted us after a few minutes on the lot, my wife and I had been browsing the Internet and settled on a Dodge Nitro. We had never been inside or driven one before. Jay immediately took us inside, he did a short interview and then preceded to pull one up front. Before we got on the road, he went over the automobile starting with the engine, then moved around the entire auto. I found Jay to be very thorough he answered all of our questions and of course hilighted all of the pros to this particular auto.My wife although impressed with all of the wonderful options, thought the Nitro was a little small inside. Jay gave us ample time to discuss what we wanted to do. Their was no pressure, and we decided to do a 360 and move completely off of the Nitro onto a Wrangler Unlimited. Jay immediately pulled one up front and again went over the Auto starting the engine. I could tell Buchanan Auto group had a plan to the sales process and Jay followed it to the letter. I also found out that Jay used to be a service manager and knew these cars inside and out. He also seemed to care for us as people not just another sale to meet his monthly quota. After we decided on a Wrangler we moved inside to discuss what we wanted to pay for it. Jay knew I had experience buying cars and flat out asked me what I wanted to pay for the Wrangler. He gave my wife and I ample time to discuss this, after I wrote down my offer, he procceded to take it to the GSM. After a few minutes we had a deal. Now the real fun was about to begin, it was time to get financing. Jay knew from the beginning that our credit was less than perfect. Jennie from their Bankruptcy Recovery program had contacted us a week before and said we could qualify for a new Auto. I really didn't think we could qualify since our Bankruptcy was just discharged in December 2010. We submitted our application and per Jay's recommendation My wife, son and I went to Red Run Grill for Lunch. When we got back we went right in to Talk to Darryl Buchanan's finance manager. Darryl was very flexible during the process and gave us a great deal on financing and a great deal on the price of our lifetime warranty with Chrysler. I really appreciated the flexibility, and ease of purchasing our new Wrangler. This is a credit to the organization. Now I see why have Buchanan has been the #1 dealer for the last 6 years.. We were upside down in the vehicle we were driving. We went to a couple of dealerships who told us it would be impossible to get a new vehicle without a large amount of money down to offset it or an $800/ went to a couple of dealerships who told us it would be impossible to get a new vehicle without a large amount of money down to offset it or an $800/mo payment. This is when we visited Buchanan. The first night we went, coincidentally we arrived right after closing time. Becky came out and greeted us anyway and answered the questions we had that night. We returned a couple of days later when we had more time and bought our first truck that night! No pressure, no hassle, no gimmicks. We got the truck we wanted with the payment we wanted, as previous dealerships had told us was impossible. Becky was very knowledgeable and has a fun personality. I left feeling like we had been good friends for a long time! Actions speak louder than words and some dealerships will leave you high and dry when you buy a new car, you can tell that they care about the sale but not about you. This was not the case with Becky at Buchanan, you could tell that she really cares and not just about the sale, about what is best for you. When leaving the dealership an hour past closing time, she still made sure we knew every detail about every feature before we left. I wish I had visited sooner and will be sure to recommend all my friends! My rating is 10 out of 5 stars! :) More
We were looking for a new Dodge Ram 1500 Outdoorsman truck and stopped here because of Buchanan Auto Park's large selection. We had never been here before. He did a great job explaining all the trucks features. We loved the truck so we went home to bring our trade vehicle back in with us. At this time Ronnie was helping some other customers so Becky stepped in to assist us. Becky was super friendly and great to work with. She was not pushy at all. In fact she got us the truck and payments we were looking for. I would highly recommend this dealer to friends and family. We will most definitely come back to this dealership in the future. After several unwanted phone calls from the dealership I finally decided to go to the dealershp to see a new Jeep Wrangler. I was told they had several in stock. Once I arrived I was greated by Jay. I was a finally decided to go to the dealershp to see a new Jeep Wrangler. I was told they had several in stock. Once I arrived I was greated by Jay. I was already looking at Wranglers and had found the one I wanted. I asked him to get me the keys so I could see inside. I was informed that before I could look at the vehicle I wanted I had to come inside. Odd, but ok. Once inside it wwas more of an interagtion then them trying to sell me a car. I had to give them all my information, address, phone number and pretty much commit to buying right then and there. Let me remind you this is all BEFORE I was even able to look at the car that I had already found on the lot that I wanted to buy. At this point I had had just about enough. I told Jay that I just wanted to drive the Jeep and I wasn't giving them anymore information. Jay then went to the place where two other men were sitting, I assume to tell them that I wasn't happy with the game that was going on. This is when I first met Kevin. Kevin came down from where he was sitting and informed me that they needed all this information in order to find the vehicle that best suits my needs. I informed him that I had already found the vehicle that fit my needs and I didn't need them to tell me what kind of car I should buy. Enter Chuck. I guess he had been listening to the whole conversation from the "sales tower". (I found out later this is where the two managers sit, it is called the "sales tower") At this point Chuck informed me that if I wanted to do business with Buchanan I was going to do it thier way or I could leave. Not only was this said in a very condescending manner but I feel I 100% that he was trying to intimidate me into buying a car that I had no interest in just so they could make more money. Overall a horrible experience and I have no interest in going back to that place and being treated in the manner that I was. I would recommend everyone stay away from this dealership. I am also filing a complaint with the BBB. More
THIS PLACE ROCKS! I just bought my second car from the dealership, AND from the same sales person. I have gotten great finance both times VERY LOW INTEREST RATES to include 1.9%. No bait and switch here! We now own a Dodge Journey and a Dodge Caliber and they come so well equipped standard...and the ride is AWESOME...so comfortable and so safe & secure. They did for me what other dealers said could not be done. I could even compare the information they gave me with Kelly Blue Book and JD Power...straight forward and honest. They're also very kind as well as respectful. Beautiful cars and wonderful people, from the sales floor to the service department and parts department and wonderful financing people. I won't take my cars anywhere else for service and I guarantee you that I'll go to them again when I look for my next car. More
This is the 4th vehicle that we have bought at this dealership. All personnel are friendly and work to get their customers the best deal possible. I never thought I'd go back to this dealership after a miserable expierence 3 years ago. But I had leased a vehicle through them and the lease was up. I attempted to work with a local dealership Hoffman miserable expierence 3 years ago. But I had leased a vehicle through them and the lease was up. I attempted to work with a local dealership Hoffman in Hagerstown, MD. 8 months prior 3 different times however, they were even worse and never followed up. The whole time Buchanan would call and ask me to come down and I really didn't want to, but 1 week before the lease was up I decided to give them a shot. I went online on a Saturday morning picked out 3 vehicles I wanted to test drive, called them confirmed the cars were on the lot and set up an appointment for 1hr later. When I arrived, Max E. Million (sales rep) came right out to greet me. We talked for a few minutes and he grabbed the keys to two of the cars. The first one he opened the door and I said nope not even going to drive it (had driven it before and still was not attracted to it). We went to the second one a 2011 Jeep Patriot Limited 4x4. I was imediately impressed. Max knew everything about the car and we took it for a spin and I fell in love. When we got back he asked if I wanted to drive the third SUV, or one exactly like it (as the one I picked was actually on the showroom floor) I said nope, lets do this one and see what happens. We discussed what I was willing to do he filled out the paperwork (quickly at that), and he gave it to Kevin. Within 20 minutes Kevin came back with "the deal" and it was within my budget so I said lets do it. Within 10 minutes I was in the finance officers office Michele Scott. I was prepared for "the hard sell" at this point believing that things were going way too smooth. When I sat down, Michele proceeded to tell me she had "great news" I laughed thinking "right great news what are you going to try to sell me now". I quickly responded unless its a lower payment its not good news. She said not only is it a lower payment, its a lower down payment and also includes GAP insurance and an extended warrenty for 100k miles / 72 months. I laughed and said whats the catch, and what happened different in 10 minutes. Simply put between the time I was at Max's desk and Micheles desk, another finance company had come in with a better offer which Michele presented to me. I was supprised and kept asking for the catch. LOL there never was one. I was in and out of the office within 2hrs with my brand new SUV. 2 1/2 weeks later I got a bill from Chrysler for my old lease. I quickly called Michele, it was late she said she was sure that the bill had been paid but the person responsible was already gone for the day. She said she would call me back the next day, and she did first thing the next morning and confirmed it was paid. Later that day I got another call from Buchanan, my taggs were in. Phenonmenal as this was all during christmas week. I went drove down to Buchanan the next day and when I arrived AGAIN Max imediately came out to greet me, we walked in everyone was smiling greeted me so nicely and were just down right awesome. Max put my tags on and I drove away. All in all I don't why the drastic difference from 3 years prior, but Max, Kevin & Michele, and everyone on the floor and on the phone were fantastic and Buchanan is now "top" on my list and I will recommend them to family, friends and even strangers. Great JOB on turning this dealership around, my hat is off to whom ever took Buchanan Auto Park's dealership in Waynesboro, PA. from a rating of 0 three years ago, to 10+++++. Hoffman Chrysler in Hagerstown, MD take note not only did you drop the ball on me and lost a business opportunity. You were beat out by a dealership I swore 3 years ago I would never step foot in again. More
Sale seemed a little rushed and not willing to reduce price of a left over 2010. Dealer did not activate Sirus radio, I had too.
