Then they worked with me to make sure that my down payment worked for both me and them. I am sp happy that I chose Buchanan's. They were never pushy and always polite and courteous. I highly recommended them. And in fact am bringing my mother there this week to get her a car too. More

Scummy, manipulating, decieving!! FRAUD. My Hyundai Elantra had high mileage and I still owed $7800 on the car, but it was not worth that much, therefore I was in a negative equity scenario. My Hyundai Elantra had high mileage and I still owed $7800 on the car, but it was not worth that much, therefore I was in a negative equity scenario. I wanted to try and fix this issue before I got myself in a situation where my car needed expensive repairs and rendered me useless, but was still making payments... So, I apply to see if I can get prequalified anywhere through some website. They refer me to Buchanan Auto in Waynesboro, PA because they were used to dealing with this kind of scenario and people with bad credit (mine is great). I make the appt to see what they can come up with as far as a loan, and what kind of vehicles they have. 8/21 - I get there, turns out the person I spoke with on the phone was just a recruiter, so they have to find me an actual sales person. I give him details on my situation, tell him I would not be willing to take any less than $3k for my Hyundai (which another dealership was willing to give me the Sunday before) and before we even look at cars, he wants to make sure he can get me approved for a loan. They come back with the fact that they have to have me pick out a car to run numbers with the bank. We test drive a 2013 Toyota Camry with 28k miles and I say okay go run some numbers on this because I'm interested, without knowing the cost of this vehicle. When they do, they tell me in order to show I don't have as much negative equity, they have to raise the amt they're giving me for my trade in and the sale price of the car. They never said HOW MUCH the car was (wasn't listed on car or online) or how much they were increasing this price, only that they would sell me the car for $17.5k (which in the end was was 17k on my paperwork) inflated and they'd give me $5800 for my car (which ended up being 6217 on my paperwork). I was also given an interest rate that wasn't so great but was okay. When I asked my sales person, Dan Langley, how much they were actually selling the car to me for, he said $11,800 (KBB value was $12.5k to $14.5k on this vehicle so I go, okay... not bad!). Now, my understanding is that they would be taking the sale price of this new car and taking the balance remaining on my old loan - the trade in and tacking that on to my new loan, so I'm thinking that 11,800+2000 = $14k BUT there was that inflation thing they had going on and all they really talked about from then on was my monthly payments which were now at $315. After some contemplating, I decide to go for it as soon as they were closing at 8 pm after my long day... then the paperwork comes and they show the inflated numbers and I'm thinking it's all fine and the loan ends up being for $20k which I don't think twice about given that I trusted what they did because of their experience in this kind of situation and my lackthereof and that what they said were the same as what was on paper because they were used to this kind of thing... and their "inflation" story seemed to match the numbers on there; I drive off the lot a little after 10 pm. 8/22 - The next day I needed to come back to give them the title and such for my Elantra... and they say because of my change of residence in another state I needed to resign some paperwork because the taxes were incorrect and they couldn't give me a tax credit essentially, which was not wrong. This changed my payment to $325 a month. I do it and after thinking about things a little more and seeing that paperwork again, I think to myself over the next day or so... well, if they are selling me a car at $11,800 and I am walking out with a $20k loan that I put $500 down on, how does that make sense?? That sounds like I'm paying for my old loan in full, plus my new one and I just gave them a car for free!! 8/23 - I call Dan, my sales person, and am told they close early on Wednesdays so Dan was off, but he would have finance call me in the morning. 8/24 - NO call from finance, so I go in with my paperwork and ask to speak to finance. Turns out, Finance is "closed" that day but a manager would speak to me. We talk circles for HOURS and I walk out unhappy that they were unwilling to fix the situation. It apparently was also Dan's day off but he had been there doing a favor for them and had to leave, but Everett insisted he discuss this a little with us. He was very defensive (expected) and a bit hostile. By the end, they still would not tell me the amt they sold the car to me for before inflation or how much it was inflated. I was still confused. Everett also encouraged me to talk to another dealership and was certain they would agree that what they did was normal and correct and he stands by that. 8/25 - I realize my PRESCRIPTION sunglasses (worth $500) are missing and I must have left them in my Hyundai Elantra that I traded in. I call the manager I had spoken to, Everett Clark, and ask him to see if they can find them for me and where they would be. He said it was in the body shop but he'd call over and find out. 8/27 - I go to a trusted neighbor who is a Finance Manager at a trustworthy dealership and get her take on things. We spend an hour to an hour and a half trying to figure out what they did vs. what they told me vs. what they SHOULD have done. If it tookt his long to figure it out with someone who's in the business, it clearly shows how confusing and manipulating this would be to an average consumer. We conclude that what they did was shady, and cost me $2,241 extra than what they had promised me. 8/28 - No response about the sunglasses... I call the body shop to see if they can check for me and they say they haven't seen that car yet. So, I call Everett and ask him and he says Dan had looked and didn't find them. Great. Another $500 down the drain. I also tell him that I spoke to someone from another dealershop and that they owe me $2,241.33 and his response was that I would have to come in and discuss this with him again and talk numbers, but it would have to be in the morning because it was the last 4 days of the end of the month and they get very busy and he essentially would not have time for me. Later that day, I decide I need to go in and just speak to his higher up at their new car location (not used) down the road since they apparently would not have time for me. I speak to someone and they get another person, and they all huddle up in the corner and talk very softly and after about 20 mins the manager approaches me and gives me a strong handshake and asks what he can do. I explain as best I can that I was deceived, there were numbers I needed to know. He shows me in their computer software that they sold me the car at $15,999 which was "the price on the lot and on their site" (lie), WHICH IS WAY OVER KBB AND NADA VALUE, and that they inflated that number by $1k to show the bank I didn't have as much negative equity. I never would have agreed to this. NOT a chance. They also claim they gave me $2,500 for my trade in which was UNDER what I told them I would take. So, he gives me the same run down Everett did but in a much less tolerant manner, and claims he would not go over ANY numbers I discussed with someone from another dealership. Absolutely cut me off and would not let me explain a thing. I leave pissed. Go back in and request documents from the body shop of any work they had done to this car when it was in their possession. This was something I had requested from Everett several times prior but no action was taken. They were VERY reluctant and argumentative about giving this to me and were insistent that they were not required to provide this documentation to anyone, that it was private *red flag*, and that all there was were some scratches that needed to be touched up (which I knew, and could see on the car and they did a horrible job at covering). I explain to this "higher up manager" (don't know his name) why I would like this info, and he gives me an auto check report and says this is public info. I say NO, I want what YOUR shop did to the car, so I know the vehicle I purchased's history, and if something happens down the road and they ask me what's been done that I would have to say "I have no xxxxing idea" and I don't wanna do that. He then stands up from his computer and tells me not to use that profanity and to leave. We go back and forth a few times about how that is absolutely insane/that he would have me removed for cursing and he was dead serious, and they would not give me what I was asking for *fishy*. I get in my car and call the police. A few moments later this manager comes out and hands me the paperwork I had been requesting (at this point I don't even know if this is worth trusting or what he might have done to it but I take it anyways). Everett takes me to my old car to have me look for my sunglasses (he's at least nice and tolerable even though he is not backing down and willing to compromise). Cops come, I tell them the story and said it was pretty much resolved as far as the body shop paperwork I was requesting so they leave. Everett and I talk more outside like reasonable adults and I say... "you know, that car is really not worth that much, and I didn't get what I told you I would take for my trade in, can we meet in the middle here and compromise to resolve this?" Ultimately, the answer was no because it would make them "vulnerable". I leave. I've spoken to a lawyer and what they have done is a felony!!! More

The easiest dealership to work with Well I pulled on to the lot looking for a vehicle and was greeted by bradley poole within a minute of being there. Super quick customer service!!!! I Well I pulled on to the lot looking for a vehicle and was greeted by bradley poole within a minute of being there. Super quick customer service!!!! I already knew what I was looking for even though it was out of my budget. Mr poole helped me get into something very similar that met all my needs as well as a good price. He showed me other things until I found the one I liked the most. I've never done a car loan that big so he explained how everything works which was a huge help. He isn't the average salesperson that just wants to "make a sale." He makes sure you found what you needed. A little while later I was signing papers for my new car!!! I highly recommend any one looking for a new vehicle to go see Bradley poole at Buchanan Auto Park!!! Thanks again Brad!!! More

It took a w I am pleased with the car I purchased. I had a unique situation because there was a manufacturer problem with the original car I selected. It took a while to find a solution but in the end I feel the salesperson (Kathy) and (Mgr. Everett) had my best interest in heart. Kathy was very helpful and understanding. I did not deal with the owner and I think he could have stepped in and made the process and even the final outcome more favorable. But in the end I am very happy with my car and that is probably the bottom line. I did comment to them that their web site is not user friendly. With no prices and only a small portion of the inventory listed, it is difficult for someone like myself to do some homework on my shopping list. I would suggest that customers not be afraid to call and ask questions. Kathy would be a good choice to request. More
Respect & fairness I was treated with respect and treated fairly.
