I hadn't purchased a new vehicle in years. I was saddened but not surprised that the experience had not changed much. Pressure, misrepresentation, ganging up and 'what can we do to fix this' i I was saddened but not surprised that the experience had not changed much. Pressure, misrepresentation, ganging up and 'what can we do to fix this' is still the order of the day. Looked at car on Saturday. Came back Monday. That morning my wife went on website and noticed that the car we were interested in had been reduced by $600. I had forgotten the new amount and called her from the parking lot and she looked it up and the discount was gone! I went in and Terry presented me an invoice without the discount. I mentioned it and he 'let me check with my manager for the 1st time. He came back and said that the website had never shown that discount. It did. I saw it. Cheryl saw it. I protested and Terry said 'let me check with my manager for the second time. He came back with a new invoice reflecting the discount. I needed a car soon, so I reluctantly agreed to the terms. We wanted my wife listed on the title, so we agreed to return on Tuesday. I was asked to bring my checkbook. Since I didn't yet have the funds transferred to the account (I as paying cash), I saw no reason to bring it. One would have thought I had committed a crime! "Well, if there's no check, there's no car. Do you want the car or not". WHAT??? I should have walked away but again I needed a car and liked the one Bryan had. After all they were the only dealer in the area. I knew I could have worked a better deal with Gillman Subaru in North Houston but again, Time. At that point they brought in a Manager. I now think his name is Rein base on the listing on the survey. That's when damage control started. What can we do, blah, blah? If you bring the check, you can take the car even if the check would bounce. By this point, I just wanted to get away from these people (there as some other person hovering over us), so I agreed to return with a check on Wednesday but I would not take the car until the check was funded. I returned on Wednesday and brought the check. We returned on Thursday when the check was funded and picked up the car. During the time all this took place I asked at some point if this was a Matt Bowers dealership. Just curious. Oh, NO! This is Bryan Subaru. Some reference was made that Matt Bowers is not a dealer to be dealt with. I can't imagine it would be any worse than this experience. It didn't hit me until later, but I believe this was about end of the month booking of a sale. In my career, I too had pressure to book sales by a certain date. You got it booked but you bought yourself a disgruntled customer who will not be an advocate. More
