We needed to have our hybrid battery replaced. We were required to pay up front before the battery would be ordered. I paid but the battery never got ordered. Before placing the order I asked Tony repeated if he was sure the part would be in the following day as we had travel plans and each time was told yes, that's why I was paying for the part in advance of the repair. I was told they were sure it would be in because I was paying before 11:00 a.m. in the morning so of course, the part would make that night's shipment and be there in the morning. Although I paid, the part never got ordered. When speaking to the manager, Bob Burkhart about it, he said Brown's Honda would provide me with a free rental car so I could keep my travel plans because of this major oversight on their part and he would call me back in 15 minutes. After an hour I called back and was placed on hold. After waiting on hold over 15 minutes, I called the service department from my cell only to be told to hang up my on-hold call and that we would NOT be given a rental car. So now I have no car to get to a family vacation which has already been paid for and no part to fix my car, which was already paid for. Thanks for lots of empty promises due to employee incompetence! Browns Honda claimed to be able to work on Isuzu Rodeos, which are the same as Honda Passports, neither of which is in production anymore. After requesting a tune up, I was not told in advance that Brown which are the same as Honda Passports, neither of which is in production anymore. After requesting a tune up, I was not told in advance that Browns did not have the right diagnostic equipment to service Isuzu rodeos, but they took my vehicle anyway. Needed basic 50k servicing, tune up, and new brakes. After the first visit, and a whopping $3k in cost, the original tune up problems were not fixed, engine light still on, ABS brake light still on despite new brakes, so I went back. After second visit I was told that they could not actually tune up the vehicle (The main reason for the original visit, plus new brakes), so they wasted a day of my time They also broke my power steering while the car was in their care, refused to admit it, although it was not noted when I picked up the car, which strongly implies culpability to me. Did they really think I would not notice my power steering would not work, on an SUV? can barely turn it manually. how did they even move the car off the shop floor and park it outside without knowing something was wrong? they did, and they know it was not a problem upon arrival, so they tried to pretend it did not happen... Initially when I picked the car up and pointed out the obvious steering problem, my sales person said it most likely happened in their shop and they would replace it. When I went to pick it up the next week after the "steering replacement" was supposedly ordered, I was told they did not order the parts and would not be fixing it gratis, as they had initially said. So I was left again without steering and without my tune up. Upon my departure, my sales person also mentioned that Wilkins GMC, a few hundred yards away, still fixed isuzus, and , unlike Brown's, had the proper diagnostic equipment. So I went there, but Brown's should have mentioned that before I ever went in. My phone messages and detailed emails to the service manager Bob Burkhardt were ignored. Do not take your isuzu here. I had an appointment for regular service and also needed new tires. Brian recommended a Bridgestone tire for my Highlander. He personally called me with a couple of recommendations. The tires I selected have performed well and offer a smooth ride. The service department also took care of a couple of recall service items. I was impressed with the service and timely completion. I was offered a ride to my work place and accepted. Great communication and highly recommend service from Browns. More
To begin, anyone that is looking for a fantastic experience...look no further!!!! Brown's Honda should be your only stop to purchase your new/used car. I was greated at the door by my salesperson, Andrew, and his demeanor made me feel as if, "the customer really matters". I will not mention the BAD experience I had from another local dealership I was working with. Shortly after, I brushed myself off from my negative experience, and drove to Brown's Honda (with tears in my eyes). I explained to Andrew ( my salesperson) that I just walked out of another dealership feeling totally disrespected, embarrassed, verbally abused, and emotinally, my confidence had been broken. Andrew took the time to listen to my complaint, then he helped me pick out a honda with the features I wanted, while explaining the whole process to me as it was occurring. None the less, my new car sales would also be including a parent that was disabled and I did not think that this parent could make it in to the showroom, so Andrew went to the manager and offered to take me to the senior home to fulfill paperwork obligations! How wonderful is that to have a team of caring people that really makes a difference in what car sales should truly be about ? I traded in my tears for smiles the whole time I was there. Soon after, I picked out my new car but had to leave Brown's Honda for an appointment before completely fulfilling all the requirements of purchasing my car. The manager had Andrew put gas in MY NEW CAR and sent me on my way!!! Next, the following day I returned to Brown's to finish up all my existing paperwork. However, let me also include a comment in reference to my trade in value of my SUV. I was trading in this vehicle and received an appraisal by the manager for "TOP dollar". I did my homework and had several appraisals from different companies but Brown's made an offer that I absolutely could not refuse !!! Shortly after, I was sitting in the financial office of ,Mr. Ferdi , and he is AWESOME, FRIENDLY, CARING, INTERESTING, FUNNY, VERY PERSONABLE and extremely loyal to his customers. His work was cut out for him and he spent a considerable amount of time working with me while never getting upset, or discouraged with tmy situation. Next, Mr. Ferdi allowed me the priviledge of meeting his manager, Mr. Rob Smelser. What a wonderful asset to this business. He commented that it is important to him to keep me smiling. Mr. Smelser is really devoted to customer service and satisfaction with a smile!!! He assured me that he would try his BEST to work within the realm of my circumstances. He made no false promises, nor any guarantees, but simply remained honest throughout the financing process. I felt in my heart that I was taken care of throughout this wonderful experience and ,no matter what the outcome, I knew I had to share this experience, ESPECIALLY with all the women that are by themselves trying to buy a car! Thereafter, a few minutes later I had happy tears in my eyes and new car keys in my hand. Mr. Smelser came through for me and I truly think of Brown's everytime I drive my new car!!!! I AM EXTREMELY GRATEFUL TO BE A PROUD OWNER OF A HONDA CIVIC!!!!!! In conclusion, to everyone that has been (or may be) disrespected, misguided, lied to, false promises, abused, and taken advantage of, I suggest that you walk away with your head held high and GO TO BROWN'S HONDA where "honesty is their BEST policy"! I am a satified customer that will always give word of mouth KUDO's to this business!!! I truly look forward to doing business with this dealership again in the future!!! This was my first time buying a brand new car and I was very nervous but Fred was there from start to finish. He also went through the process of finding the exact color I wanted and went to another location to get it for me. I was very impressed and I love my new Honda and I will not drive anything else. I went to the service center to get my lojack installed a few days later and had the same pleasurable experience. I have two teenagers ready to drive so I'm sure I will be back! More
This was the best car buying experience I can remember. Brown's quickly responded to my Erequest (two other Honda dealers wanted me to call before providing prices.). No haggling. They gave me a fair price for my trade-in. There was ZERO selling pressure. I met with the finance guy even though I'd already procured financing at an excellent rate (4%) from my bank. I didn't want to meet with him. I thought "Oh boy here it comes." The finance guy offered a couple of extras which I declined. Still no pressure. Then he asked what my interest rate was and I bragged "4%." He asked: "would you do 1.9%?" And quickly lowered my payment by $25 per month over 60 months. The 1.9% was a bonus to me because it was never used as a part of the selling process. BTW I traded a 16 year old Honda product and still have a 17 year old car at home. Its hard to beat a Honda! Hands down, the best new car experience I've ever had. We purchased a 2013 Honda Odyssey EX-L w/Navi after an online bidding war between local dealers. The prices offered by the other dealers were very competitive, but Rob pulled out the stops and successfully underbid his competition (and not by just a few dollars). Brandy was very friendly and accommodating, Mel was entertaining and made short work of all the finance paperwork, and Kenny did a great job demonstrating all of the vehicle's features to us. Not once did anyone try to push any extras on us. Not once did they bicker over the price. They didn't leave us sitting around for extended periods of time. We were in and out in record time. No nonsense, no games. I was pleasantly surprised after much different experiences these past 30 years. I would definitely recommend Brown's Honda and these particular employees to anyone in the market for a new car. More
