My name is Shawn Parr and I am the General Sales Manager of Brown-Daub Kia. I am the one mentioned negatively in this review by “ Jack” who is actually Mr. Zechariah Agyeno of Yonkers New York. Normally I would not respond to a negative review and just let it roll of my shoulder but in this scenario Mr. Agyeno has attacked my character personally and has made claims that are just 100% completely false, so I wanted to formally respond with what actually took place and share the truth. Mr. Agyeno and I spoke by telephone for the first time on February 2nd 2022 about purchasing a 2022 Kia K5 GT-Line AWD. He asked that I provide him with all the numbers, interest rate, payment etc. before he made the trip from Yonkers NY to Easton PA (over 2 hours) I did just that. I sent him several emails and text messages including screen shots of the entire breakdown of the transaction multiple times. Mr. Agyeno emailed me on February 4th 2022 asking about Kia’s Special Interest Rate of 1.9%. I informed him that unfortunately due to the extreme vehicle shortage we do not participate with Kia’s special financing rates. He asked me which lenders I would be using then if not Kia and I told him. He asked me to submit the application to my lenders and let him know what the rate and payment would be. Which I did. I told him the rate that I got for him (which I won’t disclose) and he thought that the rate was high. I said no problem, I totally understand. I explained to him that during these current times everything is more expensive than they were in previous years and cars are included. I shared with him that groceries are up 40% gas is up 50% etc. At this point I could sense that Mr. Agyeno wasn’t exactly a happy customer, so I offered to refund him his money (he had given me $1,000 deposit) and we should not move forward with the transaction and I would just put the car out for sale (Keep in mind this is the only vehicle of it’s kind that I will be seeing for at least 2 months) He declined and insisted he wanted to move forward. Keep in mind at this point he knows the exact interest rate and payment. Then on the morning of February 5th Mr. Agyeno text messaged me and again tried to negotiate and change the terms of our agreed upon transaction. I told him no there is nothing more I can do this is a “take it or leave it” situation. I again told him (and I had 2 co-workers sitting right next to me as witnesses) that I think it’s best if I just refund your money and cancel the transaction. He again insisted on moving forward with the transaction again knowing all the details of the transaction. Mr. Agyeno told me he would arrive on February 5th between 11am and 12 noon to pick up the vehicle. So I had all the paperwork printed, the car cleaned and gased and everything ready to make his visit as convenient as possible. Mr. Agyeno arrived at the dealership on February 5th after 12:30 pm. Upon his arrival we met for the first time (we had only previously communicated through email, text and phone call) in the men’s room. We talked for a few minutes. We joked about the weather. We talked about his trip in. We talked about where he was from etc. As Mr. Agyeno mentioned in his review I did not shake his hand. He was wearing a mask and seemed to be very cautious about Covid and everything going on in the world so I did not offer to shake his hand out of respect for his well being. Nothing more nothing less. So Mr. Agyeno and I talked for a few minutes and he was in a very good mood and mentioned nothing about being unhappy with the transaction or anything to that effect. Mr. Agyeno took delivery of the car and the transaction was complete. Then on February 7th I received a negative review from Mr. Agyeno. I’m not going to lie, it really upset me and I was not happy at all. I called Mr. Agyeno immediately and asked him why he gave me a bad review. He said I was “dishonest”. I asked him to please give me an example of how I was dishonest. He stuttered and mumbled and could not give me one example. I asked him throughout our emails, text and phone calls did anything about the transaction (price, interest rate, payment etc.) change. He said no and everything I promised was accurate. In fact the rate and payment was actually lower as I reached out to one of my lenders for a favor and they helped me get him a lower rate and payment. At this point we were both pretty unhappy. I felt best at this point to again (even though he took delivery and drove the vehicle back to NY) that I offer to cancel the transaction and give him a full refund. In fact I even offered to send someone to pick up the vehicle in NY so he didn’t have to waste a trip back. He declined and insisted on keeping the car. I am writing this response on the morning of February 8th and before I wrote it I reached out to Mr. Agyeno again offering to cancel the transaction and give him a full refund. He never responded back to me. I guess it’s just a shame that this day and age anyone can hide behind a keyboard and make false claims about someone without repercussions. It is what it is and I know that I am an honest, hard working person and when I lay my head down on my pillow at night I can rest easy. Sincerely, Shawn Parr General Sales Manager Brown-Daub Kia

I don't have to hide behind a keyboard and write comments. I didn't ask for the survey - your agency asked for my opinion and I gave my opinion with the specific emphasis on the financial transaction - too bad, you don't like what I have to say. If you don't know, I will tell you ... I gave your other employer a 5 star rating. He was wonderful communicating with me while I waited 3 months for the car to arrive. I guess, you forgot to mentioned in your long tirade that: 1. You insisted I must take an extended warranty otherwise the deal cannot move forward - even though you knew I didn't need the extended warranty. 2. You also forgot to mentioned why you choose not to participate in financing through KIA - I would think that being a KIA dealer you would use KIA financial services especially if it provides a better rate for your customers - don't forget, you are in the business of selling cars - you should have been a banker rather than a car dealer! 3. You also forgot to mentioned that you insisted that the minimum I must finance is $20,000 otherwise the deal is off - even though I was prepared to finance less. According to the documents I signed with your dealership - all transactions are final - no cooling off period, according to state of Pennsylvania laws. I respect that and will abide by that. I guess, you want the car back because you know you could make more money for the same car on some unsuspecting customer - self-serving is the name of your game. I wish you all the best.

I am upfront and honest about everything. All the things you mentioned I "made" you do you were fully aware of well before you ever entered our dealership and signed paperwork. You chose to move forward with the transaction. In fact when I talked to you on the phone yesterday I asked you why you didn't just purchase a K5 in New York instead of coming all the way to PA. You responded with "because you had the best price and deal". There are plenty of Kia dealerships between here and NY but they were all charging a lot more than we charge. Good Day Sir!
