Went in for a warranty repair and ended up with a $350 bill I called and gave the service person the code for my check engine light. I asked several times whether the work would be covered under warranty, and I called and gave the service person the code for my check engine light. I asked several times whether the work would be covered under warranty, and she said it would be. I received a call the next day saying that the engine cover was damaged and needed to be replaced in order for them to complete the warranty work. They said that it could have been damaged by driving over snow. I believe that if I would have purchased the cover from a local car repair shop, I wouldn't have $350, I located this part on-line for around $60. When I asked the service individual if there were any alternatives, she said no. I felt that I didn't have a choice since she said that the warranty work couldn't be completed without replacing the cover. I feel that this was the dealership's way of getting some money from me for the work that they had to do. I will never buy a vehicle there again. More

Poor explanation of suggested expensive repairs My 2012 Nissan was in for an oil change. They suggested control arms ($1285), axle ($760), and oil cooler reseal ($343). I wanted to understand more My 2012 Nissan was in for an oil change. They suggested control arms ($1285), axle ($760), and oil cooler reseal ($343). I wanted to understand more about how bad some of these parts were, what was needed now, what could wait, etc. etc. The car is only worth about $5000, so these repairs are nearly half the value of the vehicle! The service advisor didn't have much information, especially about the CV joint/boot/axle issue. "Well, that's the way we do it". was the only explanation I got. The boot was torn, do I really need a new axle? Is the joint bad? I didn't get a real answer. More
