Bob, We spoke with the service director Glenn, and it appears that you came in for an oil change, and while doing the oil change our tech noticed what looked like oil in the coolant reservoir bottle. We offered to have it looked at in our shop but you declined the diagnosis, stating that you were going to bring it to your own mechanic. Next, you came into parts and purchased parts which you brought to your mechanic, who told you that he could not do the repairs, so then you came back to us and asked how much to install the parts. Our service advisor, Bobby told you that we would diagnosis the vehicle and let you know the estimate, but you decided to leave without having us diagnose and repair the vehicle. We're not sure how that indicates that we have "garbage mechanics" that "don't know how to diagnose a concern." ..Sounds more like we ran into a customer that doesn't want his vehicle repaired!

Well for 1, diesel oil is BLACK not red. 2, they never offered to have it looked at and yes I said I was going to have my mechanic do the repairs, who wants to pay over $200/hr when most of the time the mechanics are just walking around doing nothing. Unfortunately my mechanic who used to work for them, said the same thing the tech's who were doing doing the oil change and fuel filter said, then service writer said it....OIL COOLER. So yes I purchased the parts, and returned them today.So obviously neither of the 4 people know what they're talking about. I never said anything about my mechanic not being able to do the repair. I just wanted an estimate to do the repair, but when you hear the mechanic say over the phone to the service write "it's gonna cost a lot" then it's time to walk away. It's also bad enough that when you continously bring your vehicle in, that they don't check other routine maintenance checks. Such as air filter and belts, if they had they would've found a very dirty air filter and split in the serpentine belt. If that's what the techs are trained to do, that's on them. You bring a diesel truck in for routine maintenance, it should be done by an actual diesel mechanic. I'm not going to go round and round with this. I spent enough money over a 4yr time frame at this dealership, and to be told "it's gonna cost a lot" was enough for me to walk away and discontinue my business up there.
