I have purchased many vehicles from this location prior to it being sold to Bonmin and was always extremely satisfied. My first visit after it became Bonmin Chevrolet was far from pleasant and I decided I would take my business elsewhere. It has been several years now and I was in the market for a new truck. Bonmin had the truck I wanted at a price several thousand dollars less than I could find elsewhere, so I decided to give them another chance. My sales person, Chris Romero, was a pleasure to work with. He was able to answer all of my questions about the vehicle and was very responsive throughout the entire process. I would recommend seeking him out if yo are in the market for a new car and considering purchasing from this dealership! The sales manager did try to lowball me on my trade in, but we were able to come to agreeable terms in the end. There were only two finance officers and several customers looking to make purchases, an issue that delayed finalization of the sale by several hours and something Bonmin Chevy needs to look at if they want to establish a loyal customer base. I was also quite surprised when the finance manager stated to me that all services must be performed by a Chevy dealer, later changing to a statement that services must be performed by a certified mechanic or the warranty would be voided. This is not true and I showed him an excerpt from the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act to prove that DIY maintenance does not void the vendor warranty provided the maintenance is performed in compliance with manufacturers recommendations. I understand he may have assumed that most customers do not know how to change oil and perform routine maintenance, but his statement was very specific, misleading, and seemed to pressure new car owners into using the dealership for all scheduled maintenance. Overall, the buying experience was a success and relatively painless, even if it took longer than it should have and in spite of a couple of small concerns that any new care buyer needs to be prepared to address with this dealership. My experience was lack lustered all the way around. I feel my wife and I was falsely brought in with the thought we would see 1 specific vehicle and was bait and switched. When discussing this with the salespeople and manager the reasons kept changing why this happened. If the same "Story" was provided all along then this would not have been an issue. My wife got a bit frustrated since we drove an hour from one dealership to Bomnin's. When she spoke with Victor, we were told we would get a different better vehicle for the same EXACT price. It ended up being 5k more. when we questioned him why the difference, he told me that was because the dealer added a bed liner and side steps. We were getting a better deal He presumed that I was not aware of what comes standard on the High Country. In fact, those are included in standard package and in fact not dealer added. At least according to the sticker on the window. Plus, the side sticker with the dealership additions did not include them. Then I could not get a straight answer from the finance manager on my approved finance rate. So to recap. 1. We were told a vehicle was available for purchase. which was not the case. 2 We were told the other vehicle would be the exact same price. Not true 3. We were told that the reason for the price difference was that a bed liner and side steps were added by the dealership. Straight up lie 4. When asking what the approved finance rate was for ALL the creditors. I was never informed which leads me to believe that they were hiding something. Now what to expect from me. I work in the govt that requires my honesty. If I am wrong, I will admit it and apologize. Also, reached out to Mr. Bomnin and his Florida dealership. More
