Selling lemons and bad warranties I recently bought a used 2009 Volkswagen Routan from bob howard used car lot on 11/10/2017 for my family and I for veterans day. I bought the warranty I recently bought a used 2009 Volkswagen Routan from bob howard used car lot on 11/10/2017 for my family and I for veterans day. I bought the warranty with the vehicle (an additional $2500) to ensure that my family and I would be protected if issues did arise. The following day, (11/11/2017) we drove the van from Oklahoma City, to Fort Smith, Arkansas. On the way back the check engine light came on. I didn't know what the issue was so I brought it back to the used car lot on 11/15/2017 where I was told that transmission code was on and needed to be looked at. They also told me that because I had just bought the car, the warranty would not be in effect. They said that the warranty takes 30 days to kick in. I was instructed to take the van to AMMCO transmission shop because Bob Howard has an account there and we would see about getting it looked at to resolve the issue. A week later I received a call from AMMCO transmissions stating that they would need to take the transmission apart to diagnose it. Another week went by and I received a call back from AAMCO stating that something in the transmission was failing and it would cost at least $2500 to repair. Bob Howard's Sales manager, Doug, stated that they would take care of $2500 of it and we would have to cover anything additionally. After receiving yet another call from AAMCO, they informed me that the total estimated cost would be $4200, which would leave us $1700 in repairs. $1700 in repairs and the vehicle had been driven less than 500 miles. We were a little upset, seeing how we had had the vehicle for a day before the check engine light came on. We went back to Bob Howard to speak to Doug who basically told us there was nothing that he could do for us and that they were doing us a favor by covering $2500- and reinstated that all warranties take at least 30 days to take affect. I called my warranty and found out that it was active and they would investigate the issue. Today 12/04/2017 after work I got a call from the warranty company whom told me that the issue was preexisting and that Bob Howard Toyota used car lot had sold me a Van that had a Critical failure and I need to get with Bob Howard Toyota about resolving this issue. As a disabled army veteran who purchased a van for Veterans day to help serve his family, I was hoping to get the issue fixed but its been a month and still dont have the vehicle. one star for me for lack of integrity, and customer service. More

Service I needed 5,000 mile service. All went ok and I paid and left. It takes me 30 min to drive home. I just got home and had to turn around and drive all t I needed 5,000 mile service. I just got home and had to turn around and drive all the way back due to the fact that they didn’t reset the display to the next maintenance. So the oil maintenance message was still on my display. I had to drive 30 min back to the dealership. The guy at checkin said he could fix it and he fiddled with it for 5-10 min and had to call Amy to come fix it. I make $22 per hour. Since I had 1 hour extra drive time and 15 min resetting the maintenance message so I would expect a $27.50 rebate to refund the extra time it took to fix your mistake. More
