Walked into showroom and was pawned off on a younger salesman who didn’t even ask for my name— a first for me. Even more baffling he never offered his own name. Okay, it’s a young guy who just started salesman who didn’t even ask for my name— a first for me. Even more baffling he never offered his own name. Okay, it’s a young guy who just started selling. Waited in his shared office for ten minutes while they did who knows what. Ok that’s odd but just fine— toyotas sell themselves. Straight to business and a test drive (the salesman shrugged off my attempts at getting an accurate quote before the drive but eventually got a number and decided to do some test driving. When talking to the salesman about the vehicle I quickly realized that I knew more about the truck from a few evenings of research than he did. “This is the first model with apple car play!” he exclaimed. “Uhh no it’s not?…” Back to the showroom and started “dancing” with him and the finance department— I eventually decided not to buy the car because they were trying to offer every lower or base level trim alternative but the one I asked for and test drove. You NEVER wanna see a sales guy come back to you with “We’ve found the perfect car for you!” and a pen nervously shaking in his hand. I’ve never seen a sales guy so nervous to bring over a quote sheet but I guess that’s what happens when you’re trying to price gouge. I realized the bait and switch and planned my exit. In any case, I said I would come back another time if I was still interested. I respect the hustle, but the sales man didn’t even have a business card on him. I’ve never had to ask a sales guy for his own business card either. My family has bought from bob howard toyota since they’ve lived here, all of my childhood—that’s why i came by here first; i had heard good things. My advice is to ask for a quote or deal sheet online and agree on terms before you come to Bob Howard. In this day and age there’s not really a reason to even walk into a dealership without this. Needless to say I will not be buying my next Toyota here. Terrible experience and disappointing dealership; Bob howard is lucky to be able to sell Toyotas. More
I've had different experiences but the last few were phenomenal. They got me in quickly and always updated on when the car will be ready. Also, they were reasonable with pricing with the services which phenomenal. They got me in quickly and always updated on when the car will be ready. Also, they were reasonable with pricing with the services which can't be done at a regular shop. Curt was reassuring and helpful with the damage I did to the front passenger tire and offered to give discounts on the next service. More
