Mr Nagle, The vehicle was a 2010 Chevrolet Aveo sold as is, wholesale to public. This was presented to you in writing both before and after your visit to our dealership. I am sorry you weren't happy with the condition of the vehicle, but you never expressed this to myself, my finance manager, or my other sales manager when you were here. The price of the Aveo was raised, as I am new here and sent it through my shop to repair a few things. However, we honored the lower price you had seen online. I'm sorry our doc fee didn't meet your expectations, but we averaged out the fees charged by all local dealers and have ours below the average. I do appreciate that you did not try to raise the price on me. Despite the salesman's claims that the car was worth $6000 (which I knew from my research was not the case and chose not to refute), Arvest Bank only loaned me $2400 on the car, representing 125% of the value of the vehicle. The salesman said every car goes through a rigorous inspection before it is allowed onto the lot. Katie texted me regarding my 9:00 appointment "We will make sure everything is ready for you! When you arrive just ask for Jerry King." The salesman refused to let me see Jerry King, saying Jerry would just turn me over to him. That struct me as rather presumptive, but it was not a major issue for me. Not only was the gas tank not full, but it turns out the oil was low or leaked out on the way home. When I checked the oil today, it was clear (thus new), but was a half inch below the minimum mark, well below the normal range. The salesman also attached the temporary tag with only one screw! I replaced the burned out headlight bulb today, so that now works fine. I was not happy that my son had to drive the car back to Tahlequah from Vinita at night with only one headlight working. I was not aware the headlight was out before we picked up the car. That is a basic safety item and no responsible dealership should allow a car to leave their lot without both headlights, or at least without disclosing to a customer that one headlight is out. When you spoke with me you said "new plugs, wires and something else" had been fixed that you couldn't remember. The coil bar does look to be new and I did not pull any of the plugs. Maybe I am naive and gullible, but I like to give people the benefit of the doubt. When a dealership makes claims that aren't factual it does bother me. The salesman assured me the vehicle was sound and would be an excellent car for our son to drive to college. The costs of a half tank of gas and of the bulb are not the issues for me, though I do appreciate your offer to take care of the gas. The problem is the sloppiness or lack of concern. My son feels like I was irresponsible to believe anything I was told. Bottom line, I expected better from a Chevrolet dealership.
