Response from Body Shop Manager Nick D regarding repair on 2012 Jeep Liberty ... The rear trailer hitch was to be replaced as well and was an aftermarket Reese hitch. There was a mix up between myself and parts and the hitch did not get ordered which is a little different because it is not Mopar part. I let the customer know and he opted to have me issue a check to him for the amount that was paid by insurance to replace the hitch and do it himself. I promptly had a check issued and he came and picked it up. He later called back and started to use profane language stating that we messed up his vehicle underneath. I explained all we did was replace the bumper cover and there was really no way that would be possible but to go ahead and bring in the vehicle and we can take a further look. When he arrived I pulled the vehicle in and raised it in the air on the lift. I noticed right away that the vapor canister on the passenger side rear was shoved forward and the brackets it is mounted to were bent where it looked like someone had been prying on it. It was obvious this was old and pre-existing damage as the brackets were rusted and had dirt where the brackets were supposed to be. I brought the customer out and explained the same to him and he understood. He then tried to say we rerouted the hoses from it causing them to touch the spring. I explained there would be absolutely no reason for us to do something like that and the hoses were sitting where they were because of the part being shoved forward. The customer understood and left with no other questions or concerns. I am not sure what he is referring to about someone laughing and talking about him, I would never even think about doing something of that nature.

That's great, and glad to hear the manufacture and crew in Service were able to meet your expectations. Chrysler (as a manufacture) does do a good job of recognizing customers situations. Unlike Toyota or Honda there are times in which Chrysler (FCA) will allow for a warranty repair slightly outside of the 3 year, 36,000 coverage. Please do not use this review to beat us up if you run into this situation. The manufacture (and typically dealer as well) looks at loyalty- if the customer takes care of their vehicle at an established FCA dealership and if they are loyal to the brand. It's not always cut and dry and depends on the repair necessary but definitely give FCA xxxxxxon there willingness to "goodwill" repairs when it's the right thing to do.
