Appointments mean nothing to these guys I had an appointment set up with John Bang to purchase a 2015 SLT yukon XL. I communicated I have already been pre approved and simply need to send over the purchase agreement to my lender. All was good and set up the appointment to view the vehicle on the evening 10/7. This was a 3 hour drive (~100 miles). During the drive down, Brandon Walsh text me (approx 1.5 hours into the drive) to tell me; John was sick and he was brought up to speed on my sale. I confirmed and reassured him I am, in fact, on the way about 1.5 hrs out. Wouldn't you know it, i get to the dealership only to be told the Yukon i can to purchase was SOLD that MORNING!!! Why in the xxxx would i drive 3 hours for a vehicle which was already sold in the morning after talking to more than 3 people about the vehicle? (receptionist, assistant, John, Brandon) After expressing how this was a huge waste of my time, Brandon then told me it didn't sell in the morning, it sold a few hours ago. And that, if he would have known; he would have told me. MORE LIES! the dealership had multiple opportunities to call, text (even email) to communicate to me that there were other clients interested in the vehicle. They simply choose to not say anything until my arrive in order to push the Denali (high price) onto me. As i am walking back out to my vehicle (minutes later) BOOM!!!! The Yukon I drove 3 hours to purchase pulls back in from its test drive from other clients!!! it was there the whole time. it was just being sold to someone else. even after i committed to driving 3 hours, pre approved, and made the appointment with their team. .......Simply put- Bob Caldwells sales team planned on selling me the Denali they had on the lot and sold the SLT out from under my family. ... I understand they have a to make a sale; but at what point is the Customer put first? when will organizations realize, that sometimes, keeping your word and honoring your commitment to customers; is more than just a sale! Extremely disappointing in the sales team and how this dealership values their customers. Its clear to me that its all about pushing the inventory out the door and not taking the customer into consideration. I am happy to have not given Bob Caldwell and their team over $30k. I hope that after you read this review, you will choose the same. Not to mention the little accounting guy with the bad hair cut - He told me this is " Bob Caldwell policy; and xxxx happens" . Thanks for being like EVERY other dealership Bob Caldwell Automotive of Columbus Ohio. HORRIBLE customer service. More

Easy no pressure sale John was a great and honest salesman. I wasn’t able to find exactly what I wanted in my home town so I traveled a little over two hours to shop at Bob John was a great and honest salesman. I wasn’t able to find exactly what I wanted in my home town so I traveled a little over two hours to shop at Bob Caldwell .I came from a not so pleasant car shopping experience just the weekend prior to my purchase at a different dealership and relayed that to John. He was understanding to my concerns and I feel went over and beyond making me feel comfortable in purchasing with him and even came in on his day off to finalize the purchase. Customer service was excellent and the whole experience was well worth the drive . I will be back in a couple of years to purchase another when my son is of age. More
