Both dealerships are in the Boardman area and we went for test drives in each vehicle, back-to-back, so we could easily compare the two. What a world of difference between the two dealerships! At Subaru, there was no pressure. Dan Roberts was the perfect salesman for us, being very friendly and laid-back in his approach and yet equally as knowledgeable and informative as we needed. He let the car sell itself. The other dealership was very pushy and they tried to write up a deal after a test drive, even though they had no vehicle on the lot that was remotely close to what I was looking for. That approach was a total turn-off, so back to Subaru we went. It was so refreshing to deal with Dan; we told him exactly what we wanted, he located the vehicle for us, and the deal was negotiated in a pleasant, fair manner. We walked away with a good feeling that both sides got what they wanted and nobody got screwed in the process. I guess you could say it was an enjoyable car-buying experience - have those words ever been paired together before? From the very first impression of the upscale looks and feel of the dealership to working with Dan Roberts (he smiles a lot and just makes you feel happy) to finally driving off into the sunset with my sweet new Outback, this was enjoyable! I test drove an Impreza and Legacy and went back the following weekend to purchase a Legacy. Pete made me feel at home and didn’t pressure me to make a decision. The dealer I bought my last car at gave me a horrible deal and was the typical car salesman. The type that tries to pretend to be your friend and was overly patronizing. Pete was straight forward and got me a good deal with very little work needed on my part, which I appreciated. I would recommend him to my friends and hopefully, I’ve found a new car brand for life. I contacted the dealer via email to get some questions answered and ask for their lowest price because of me needing to travel from about 25 miles north of Pittsburgh, in Pa. The internet team gave me to customer service manager, Doug Shirley. Doug was very helpful in getting answers and said there was some room to move on price so we made the trip. We were greeted by Dan Roberts who was the sales rep that took the vehicle I came to see on trade. After seeing, driving, and getting the car history from Dan we got to the business of negotiations. The process of getting to an agreeable price went surprisingly smooth. I was also appreciative that they realized the condition of my trade and reflected that in my trade value. Because they had the car a very short time it had not been detailed yet. Dan said he would have it cleaned up and asked if we could pick it up the next day. It was well worth the second trip because the detail guys made the car look beautiful, both inside and out. For an old retired guy I have made many car purchases in my life but none were as pleasant as the one I had at Boardman Subaru. Because we were from out of state did not make a difference, making a purchase in Ohio from Boardman Subaru could not have been any easier because they have a notary In Pa. that does all the transfers to Pa. More

Quick and easy car buying experience Our first Subaru, Forester, car buying experience was great! We walked in already knowing what we wanted but didn’t have any idea what was on the lot.
