Bill Utter Jr. was 14 when he started working at Bill Utter Ford. With his new driver's license, Bill began delivering parts for the family dealership. Bill and Virginia Utter opened the doors to their new Ford dealership in 1956 in downtown Denton. It was the beginning of a family tradition of offering the best Ford products and services to North Texas families.
In the early days, they were simply concerned with making ends meet from day to day and treating each customer with courtesy and respect, as they would any friend. Many of those customers became lifelong friends, and the business grew from one referral to another to serve generations. When I first arrived I was greeted by Alex Celia my service Advisor. I was surprised however that when he scanned my serial number he came up with a different name that wasn’t mine. My first dealings with Bill Utter Ford was a few years ago when I took my truck in for service. I did not purchase the truck from them but they treated me as if I did! This is what brought me back. Ms. Rubio provided excellent service. My son is at UNT & I had to drive in from out of town to help him out. She kept in contact with me and let me know what was going on, notified me when the car was ready I had to drive in from out of town to help him out. The doors opened at exactly 7:00.
