Bought a couple of vehicles last week, one from Bill Penney Toyota and the other from Honda of Jasper. Vastly different experiences. Honesty, integrity and customer service are very important to me, H Penney Toyota and the other from Honda of Jasper. Vastly different experiences. Honesty, integrity and customer service are very important to me, Honda of Jasper gave those to me and more. They've earned my business and I'm sure we'll be back. Bill Penney, not so much. Our sales person at Bill Penney was great. Very professional and helpful. The problems came from finance. On June 5th, my daughter picked out a vehicle at Bill Penney Toyota. We were asked for a deposit and were told it would be refunded the following day when we paid for the vehicle. I gave a deposit of $1000, via debit card. We paid for the vehicle on June 6th, using a personal check and a check from our credit union. There was no mention of refunding the deposit. I called June 7th and asked about the refund, finance indicated it would take 3-5 business days to process the refund. No refund as of June 14th and another call was made. Finance told me the refund had been processed and the holdup would be investigated. They promised to call me back. No return call. On June 15th I called for an update and spoke with the finance manager, "Brent." Brent told me he's not sure why I was told my refund would be processed the next day, or even in 3-5 business days. He added my refund would be mailed on June 17th. When I voiced my disappointment, he became very assertive and loud. A less confident person would have felt bullied. I let Brent know I wasn't going to be bullied and that he didn't have to worry about me making another purchase from any of their dealerships. Very unprofessional folks. Shop elsewhere and save yourself the hassle. More
Ryan Mortimer was excellent! I came on Memorial Day, not sure if I would buy that day. But Ryan made the sale such a smooth transaction that I couldn’t refuse! Thanks Ryan!!! I have yet again had the best experience ever at Bill Penney Toyota of Jasper. I made my 2nd purchase and of course all I had to do is call the best ever salesman again. Anthony Bongiovanni, also known a Penney Toyota of Jasper. I made my 2nd purchase and of course all I had to do is call the best ever salesman again. Anthony Bongiovanni, also known as Toyoda Tony. He worked out everything for me & had my vehicle ready when I showed up. The Finance Service is awesome but you need to see Anthony 1st. He works hard for YOU to get you in the vehicle you want. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. More
I would run the other way if you are considering doing business with any Bill Penney car dealership. I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with Ben Fortenberry the salesperson, David Walters the business with any Bill Penney car dealership. I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with Ben Fortenberry the salesperson, David Walters the Sales Manager and Foster Cook the GM. It one of the worst experiences I've ever had dealing with any company on large purchase as a customer. The sales manager called me on the phone after I initially reached out. He was excited to notify me that he located a vehicle that was similar to what I was looking to purchase. The vehicle was already manufactured and in the United States. I requested a listing sheet for the vehicle from David. He said "no problem, Ben would send the the listing sheet with details over to me promptly". The listing sheet was sufficiently detailed with an image vehicle as well as with its VIN #, features, color, interior color, etc, as well as the cost breakdown. The listing sheet details were exactly as David explained to me over the phone. It was an XSE model, which wasn't what I wanted, but was willing to settle as it was the model they could get to me the soonest. I was told that a $1000.00 deposit was needed to allocate and secure the vehicle before someone else does. I decided to move forward with the deposit......I reached out about two weeks later to check with Ben on the status. He told me listing sheet would not be the vehicle I would be receiving, but it would be similar and would now would take up to 3 months. I told him this was not correct and asked to him to speak with his management to clarify and get corrected.. He never got back to me. I eventually had to move forward with another vehicle. I reached out to Ben asking for the refund and was told the dealership would not refund the deposit. I was surprised to say the least, but this was becoming Par for the course. I eventually was directed to the GM Foster Cook and was told he would be the one who has the authority to refund my money. After a month of trying to reach him by phone with no luck, I decided to reach him by email. He called me back to apologize for the way the situation was handled, but he would not refund my money. This is an atrocious way to handle customer service as they knowingly and intentionally misled and lied to a customer. This is a prime example of a bait and switch. Please proceed with caution at any Bill Penney motor co dealership. There are plenty of reputable car dealers that will work with you and bend over backwards to earn your business. Bill Penney isn't one of them More
