Auto Repairs Attention Bill Pearce: My name is Joseph Guerra and my son had his 2012 Honda Crosstour with 52905 miles on it towed into your dealership with a l Attention Bill Pearce: My name is Joseph Guerra and my son had his 2012 Honda Crosstour with 52905 miles on it towed into your dealership with a locked up motor on December 27, 2016. We were told by Randy Hopfinsperger that we were still covered by the drive train warranty so we left it for repairs. My son was asked to provide all service records for the time that he had owned the car which he did and gave to Randy. A couple of days later, we received a call from your service department and were then told that the engine had run out of oil and the oil was 1 qt overfilled. Also, there was not a Honda oil filter installed on the engine. We were also told that we must of ran the car dry of oil and then installed new oil after it quit. We were then told that the factory would not honor the warranty due to the fact that metallic shavings were found in the oil, the oil was 1 qt. low and that Honda declined warranty engine repair at this time. At this time I thought there was something fishy about your story as the problems found with this engine changed. I figured that I had been lied to and decided to remove the car and have it towed to San Jose Honda. When I went to pick up the car from you, I was told that there would be a $110.00 diagnostic charge. I was also told that a new engine would cost around $10,000.00 and a used engine would cost around $6,000.00. My son paid the $110.00 and we took the car. It cost me $500.00 to have the car towed. $1,000 in other charges including rental cars. The next day San Jose Honda pulled the pan and found all main bearings spun therefore the engine was seized. 4 days later I got a call and was told that a new engine had been installed into the car and it was covered by warranty. I picked up the car and it cost me nothing. I did not pay a $110.00 fee for diagnosis. I was not told that the warranty would not be honored because of not having a Honda oil filter installed. I was not told anything about to much oil installed and to little oil or anything about metallic shavings in the oil. And, I was not told that the repairs would cost $6000.00 to $10,000.00. They just fixed it, costing me nothing. Now after going through all of this I figure it this way. Someone working for you is a lire and a thief therefore you are a lire and a thief. I also figure that you owe me $110. for diagnosis and $500 and $1,000 miscellaneous for towing and car rentals and other expenses and an apology for being a crook. I also figure that this will never happen because your probably a cowered to.
