From the very first phone contact with Eric Oberlin through the entire shopping process we did not feel at all What a great experience!!! From the very first phone contact with Eric Oberlin through the entire shopping process we did not feel at all pressured or bullied. We had been to other Chevy Dealers where we walked in feeling like we were on the defensive side of the ball and could not let our guard down. This was NOT the case when we walked into Bill Kay Chevrolet. We were greeted in a friendly way and were directed to Eric Oberlin who I had spoke with over the phone the night before. Eric took the time to listen to our wants and worked with us in finding the vehicle that fit both our budget and wants. Eric took the time to find numerous vehicles with various combinations of options available and then showed them to us side by side so we could compare them and decide what best fit our needs. Eric was very knowledgeable in the vehicles functions and operations and answered all of the questions we had during the shopping process. Once we found the vehicle that we were interested in but not sure if it was in our budget at the time, Eric worked with the beginning stages of the sales process with the understanding that if this vehicle did not fall within our budget, then we would be looking at one of the other vehicles (with fewer options) that would fall within our budget. Again no pressure to buy something that we were not comfortable with. Eric took the time to find and apply all vehicle incentives, rebates and cash back obtains that we could qualify for to get the best price possible. The numbers on our first choice vehicle fell within an accepable budget range which we were comfortable with and Eric started the sales process (paperwork). No delays and before we knew it we were moved along through the process at an acceptable pace. Again no pressure to buy anything extra along the way. We were offered and accepted a couple of the added programs (fabric / under coat protectant and extended warranty) which was kept within our budget. The paperwork was finalized, signed and we were on our way with the keys to our NEW 2013 Chevy Equinox!!! Eric then took the time to fully explain the features of the new vehicle, set up the On Star package and answer any final question we had about the vehicle. We drove off the lot completely satisfied with the entire pruchase process and felt that we received the best possible service, price and vehicle to fit our needs. Eric Oberlin is a great assest to the dealership and should be commended for a job well done!!! Again I can not stress enough what a relaxed, pressure free experience we had and will recommend Bill Kay Chevrolet to all our family and friends who may be in the market for a new vehicle. We went to Bill Kay Chevrolet looking for a particular corvette that had been advertised. The car was on the lot, and Mike was very prompt about getting us in the car for the test drive. He was very friendly and professional, without being overly pushy. The finance manager, Jeff Malecek was very professional and quick, and had us out the door within the time frame we needed. The only issue we have with the corvette is that with only 150 miles on it, we have to take it back to be serviced because of a horrendous rattling noise at 70 mph. It is so loud that we can't carry on a conversation. The car was supposed to have been fine tuned by the service department before taking delivery, so it is disheartening that we have this type of issue. It started on Saturday (yesterday) after Bill Kay has closed, so Monday (tomorrow) we will be bringing it back to be fixed. I am trusting that the issue will be promptly taken care of and properly fixed. Bill Kay's employees were very professional and top notch as far as the sales end. Unfortunately, we do have to bring the car back to be serviced less than a week from taking delivery. That isn't setting too well with us right now, it is a major inconvenience to have to take the car to the dealer from Northwest Indiana. I am hoping this isn't going to be an ongoing problem. More
Everyone was friendly from the moment we walked into the dealership. They worked hard in getting us financed with the right car no matter how long it took them to do so while we were there. I've bought a few cars over the years and helped others. I have to say this was the best new car buying experience I ever had. Joe K. REALLY went out of the way to make sure I was happy. I saw a car on-line it was a very promising price of only 31k I talked to the Internet department and then I was transferred to Ralph (one of the sale managers) after talking to him he seemed like a straight up guy and offered to match the trade-in offer that was offered to me from a different dealer it was 20,600 he told sure not a problem we will give you 20,600for sure (without seeing the car). I drove 19 miles wasted gas and more importantly time. As soon as i got to the dealer Ralph pulled out his calculator and told me that there is a $900 doc fee and a rebate that was ADDED to the INTERNET PRICE for serving in the army so from a price of 31060 he ended up at 32900 that is not including tax! Then the sales person asked me for my keys so that he can apprise my car and I wasn't aware that meant take my car and drive it around the dealership as fast as you can (he drove it keeping it well over 4k rpms), he literally came back within 3 minutes went to Ralphs (managers) office and came out he said they can only give me 20k for it. He then adds the numbers tax the remaining payoff of 5k and he tells me I'm going to pay $20,960 for a car that is worth 10k more + 5k of payoff. I then nicely asked him to let me know where he got these numbers from so that I can see what is added he goes into the managers office and comes out doesn't tell me how he got these numbers but he tells me that they can only give me 19,500 for my trade, now I got upset, i asked him to show me how he gets to these numbers and he comes back and tells me my trade lost 500$ ha ha bunch of pathetic liars working here. Typical example of bait and switch, don't even bother. P.S. The place was empty when I got there the sales reps were standing around and all were talking to each other I was the only customer, I think I know why. More
