Friendly place, not so good salesman I had a good time at Bill Kay buying my first car, Bill Baresch was a friendly guy to talk to but not so much to buy from. I had written a review after I got the car saying Bill treated me like I wasn't an adult, calling me "kiddo" and patting me on the shoulder like I'm his grandson or something. I believe I left him a 3 star review because as a 19yr old buying my first car I wasn't a fan of his behavior towards me. Bill called me the next day and started out by asking how the car was, apologizing for calling me kiddo, and then got straight to the point of directly asking me "Could you change the review? It helps me get customers," and I agreed after he told me it will effect his business. But the whole situation left a very bad taste in my mouth and I think it's more fair to warn potential customers that Bill was more concerned about me changing his review than he was for righting the wrong I felt had happened. Something else that I didn't add to my first review, after filling out the finance paperwork and finally getting the keys to leave Bill told me that I would need to go fill up the tank across the street because it was very low on gas. How is that acceptable? How can you sell a car that's got a gallon of gas in it? I'd assume it's customary to fill up the tank before handing it off so I'm also assuming it's Bill's 5 star service that let that happen. Bill Kay in Lisle is a nice, friendly place, many of the other salesman and employees were very nice to me, but I wasn't a fan of my salesman Bill Baresch. More

The woman I first spoke to, Jenifer, answered all of my questions, then made a point of scheduling my appointment with a sales rep, Dave, who currently owns and drives the exact model of car that I was inquiring about. Dave was very personable and quite informative. I explained my financial situation, he listened and worked with me. Together Dave, along with Joe the financing guy, they put together a great deal. Joe even encouraged me to call my brother (a mechanic) to ask questions pertaining to the car and what would be the best warranty for me to get. The team at Bill Kay Chevrolet made it surprisingly easy. I would definitely recommend them. More

They offered me a competitive price over the internet, leaving me feeling I got a good deal on the car without haggling, games, or discovering undisclosed ad-ons at the end of the process. Unlike some other dealers, my salesman Paul was quite knowledgeable about the Bolt, and helped us get the car set up correctly before we drove off. Most impressively, when we ran into a serious glitch -- due to my own error, the original car I agreed to buy did not have a feature I wanted -- Paul handled it well and efficiently, even though I caused him some loss of time and trouble. He quickly arranged to find another car that met my needs, explained the price difference, and devoted the time to making sure I got the car I wanted at a fully disclosed and reasonable cost. I also appreciated the fact that at no time during the purchase was I pressured to buy an extended warranty, "undercoating," or any of the other add-ons that often make car-shopping an unpleasant experience. The only reason that I am not giving a full five stars is that the dealership was not able to provide IL EV plates for the car, which, as I understand it, is something they can and should do as part of the process of selling/registering a Bolt. That said, I would still recommend Paul and this dealership to anyone, especially anyone looking to purchase a Bolt -- which, by the way, is a terrific car. More
