3rd time is not the charm Check engine light came on in March and had it checked out. In March, stated it was a problem with the emissions system and had $1800 of work done including a tune up (fuel injector service, new spark plugs, etc.) to address the problem. 24 hours later, check engine light went on. Had it rechecked a few days later and was suggested to run a couple of tanks of gas through it as it will sometimes clear. This didn't work. Check engine light on/off over the next couple of months. Returned to dealer and had both catalytic converters replaced to the tune of $3200. Upon starting my vehicle IN THE DEALER LOT, the check engine light came back on. The service writers have been pleasant to deal with and the customer service overall has been good. What makes me skeptical about the quality and motivations for the recommended repairs is that I received a call from a salesman who knew that I had a lot of repairs made and was asking about my interest in trading in the vehicle and purchasing a new one. Now, I'm concerned that I'm being played by both the service and sales departments. Thus, I'm leaning against recommending this dealer for service when previously I was pleasantly surprised by the work and customer service. We'll see if they make this right... More

Battery kept dying I brought my car in for a battery that was dying every time I turned the car off. The battery was only 18 months old. Mike tester my car, found that I brought my car in for a battery that was dying every time I turned the car off. The battery was only 18 months old. Mike tester my car, found that the battery was bad, and replaced it under warranty. He also took care of my oil change while I was there. I was out in 90 minutes. Great service! Thank you! More
Not recommended - So called "OEM" towing hitch needs welding at the outlet plate; - Missing "SV" letters on tail gate; - Left back wheel lug bolt broken during serv - So called "OEM" towing hitch needs welding at the outlet plate; - Missing "SV" letters on tail gate; - Left back wheel lug bolt broken during service, and lug nut with broken bolt inside left in the center console; I emailed collision center regarding this issue and no answer. The only reason that i took my truck to "Bill Kay" was that it is a Nissan dealership and i was hopping for best service. Unfortunately I regret my decision. More

Dishonest; an unethical company I bought a new car from this company. I have pointed out issues with the car for 5 years. Now that warranty has expired, they pointed out the EXACT I bought a new car from this company. I have pointed out issues with the car for 5 years. Now that warranty has expired, they pointed out the EXACT thing I have complained about since the car was a year old!!! I will contact BBB to understand whether the issue is GMC or Bill Kay. Also told my wife the car needed $2100 in repairs when another shop charged $775. As expected, not only changed tune after warranty but also took advantage of female. More

Got the call late the next morning that it was done already - fabulous!! Little confusion as to the policy of applying the diagnostic fee to any authorized repairs, but got it worked out. Not specifically this dealer's issue, but this whole thing was avoidable if with all the tech in these vehicles SOMETHING would've alerted me to the engine burning an excessive amount of oil and causing me to run low!!!! Mike offered to monitor the oil level knowing this is a chronic problem with GMC and said he'd go to bat with GMC over it down the road if necessary - thanks! More

Broken down from out of town. My transmission gave out towing a trailer whilst visiting from Minnesota. I can’t say enough how fantastic I was treated and taken care of. I didn't have an appointment, but Wayne was very friendly and helpful. He took care of me immediately, and fixed my car in less than 5 minutes! He also did not charge me for the minor procedure. I was very impressed with the customer service, and I will be returning for any future repairs that I may need! I will definitely recommend Wayne and the Downers Grove Body Shop to others! I'm so grateful for Wayne's help today! More
