We always strive to fix every vehicle on the first service visit. Due too constraints placed upon us to not only verify the issue and verify the failure we cannot always do the repair the first time. In this case the battery was the cause (low voltage causing computer issues) but the battery tested good on both previous visits. Several factors are involved here. The first is the vehicle does not get driven much, this can cause the battery to be in a low state of charge and then the car is driven, which will charge up the battery enough to make it pass a battery test. Than the vehicle sits and drains the battery down again. This can cause internal damage to the battery over time and shortens the battery life. The second factor is the harsh climate we live in will shorten the life of everything. Cold and heat are very bad for batteries, which as anyone in the Midwest knows is normal for us.
