Nice car, fair price utterly lousy service. If you value your Social Security number this isn’t the place for you. In an attempt to secure financing, the sales person assigned in Ray’s absence, mingled my S your Social Security number this isn’t the place for you. In an attempt to secure financing, the sales person assigned in Ray’s absence, mingled my SS# with two other individuals information and printed this information. At that point I decided to secure my own financing. The salesman walks away from his pc with all my information still on screen.....I wiped it off the his computer. After purchase, a check was sent to BJVW but misplaced. Due to an illness, I requested all paperwork to be completed and car ready for a swift Friday morning pickup, that was after 3 emails and calls to multiple individuals. Upon arrival we were told check was missing, this after a confirming text that we were to arrive that morning. Does one hand know what the other was doing? They find check and we go to complete paperwork. At that point we are asked for our Social Security numbers, we argued the point that they didn’t require since financing wasn’t secured by them, again resistance until I asked the Finance Manager when the last time he was asked for his SS# at the DVM, he finally relented. The icing on the cake came when I was informed that the car didn’t have a front license plate bracket and it was my responsibility to put one on, this after paying $303 for delivery and handling. That item is an OEM Cadillac part. Sales manager comes to me and asks me to get one off of Ebay and they would send me $20 to take care of the cost. I was so pissed I said ok, went home and found it will cost me $50 in parts and I don’t have the tools to rivet it to bumper. I called back and was assured someone would call me in a matter of minutes. Four hours later the sales manager calls back but left a message as I missed his call. He never called back nor did I return his call. Last I checked, Illinois requires a plate on the front of the car, I guess that doesn’t fall under delivery and handling charges. Please note that Ray did his best to right the situation which none of it his fault, unfortunately he seems to be surrounded by a less than effective staff.....to put it politely. That was the second and last car I will ever purchase through Bill Jacobs. More
