I purchased a 2022 Honda Pilot in August 2022. The purchase itself was quite an adventure and has been previously reviewed. During the closing process, we were given the opportunity to purchase a “fabulous” protection policy for the vehicle. It was to cover things like window chips and windshield replacement, dings and dents on the body, and most importantly, the electrical system. Since almost all of the vehicle is now controlled electronically, and the repairs/replacement costly, it seemed to make sense. The finance guy at no point said there were limitations on the chip/crack repair/replacement. Wonder what parameters are covered/not covered under the dig and dent coverage. They should sell you the policy of strictly the protection of the electrical system! While driving home from family celebrating the Thanksgiving holiday (Friday night), I got a chip on the lower driver side windshield. Because of the cold outside and heat on the inside, and driving on the interstate, the chip quickly spread to a crack. Today (Saturday), I took my vehicle to Bianchi to see what I needed to do to repair the windshield, since my understanding from the day of closing was this would be covered. I was informed that the policy only covered small chips and cracks under 6 inches. WHAT??? First of all, it was whole event. With the exclusion of just pulling over and having the car towed in, the chip was going to spread as it may. What kind of policy is that. You got me again Bianchi!!! Buyer be ware! The service rep was very kind and made several calls trying to find a way this could be taken care of, because he too thought it was a bit ridiculous, but had no success. More
