Horrible experience! Bought a new XC-90 about 6 years Horrible experience! Bought a new XC-90 about 6 years ago and brought it back to DB for it's regular maintenance since. The buying experience and Horrible experience! Bought a new XC-90 about 6 years ago and brought it back to DB for it's regular maintenance since. The buying experience and most service appointments were very good UNTIL the past few times that have gotten progressively worse. The most horrible experience I've ever had with a customer serivce rep. ANYWHERE came today at DB Volvo. A month ago we had 50K service performed, which came to almost $1K and one of the items I asked them to fix was a burned out Daytime Running Light. Got the car back home (an hour away) and found that the DRL was not replaced. Rather than taking another 2 hours drive and cycle the car up there again, I went to Pep Boys and replaced it myself. But I did call the service rep. to tell him that they missed the DRL. He barely apologized and that was that. Soon after I received a survey from Volvo Corp. asking me about the latest service, and I did not rate it high due to missing the DRL. I didn't hide my name, and it was an honest assessment. Took the car in this morning to a scheduled appointment and after taking my information and key, the same service rep. berated me for giving "him" a low rating and, I quote him directly, "just want to let you know that it affects me personally when you give a low rating". it was all in a threatening tone with several "do you understand!? thrown at me for emphasis. Well EXCUSE ME, IT AFFECTS ME PERSONALLY WHEN I HAVE TO FIX SOMETHING YOU NEGLECTED TO DO!!! I didn't actually say that back to him as I was too shocked to believe a service rep. would treat a returning customer like that. After thinking a minute, I demanded my keys back, walked out the door, and will not be returning for service or car purchases at DB Volvo in the future. More
I have owned my Volvo XC90 for almost 5 years. My experience with this dealership from the sale to the service has been excellent. In the past we have owned Honda's, Acura's, Mercedes, Dodge and Aud experience with this dealership from the sale to the service has been excellent. In the past we have owned Honda's, Acura's, Mercedes, Dodge and Audi's and by far this dealership has the best service. My car has had some minor issues but they have always been fixed promply and I have never felt like they ever were "pulling the rug over me". They stand behind their work and it is always easy to get an appointment and a loaner car with this dealer. For the service alone I would buy another Volvo at this dealer. I highly recommend this dealer. More
My husband have bought 2 new Volvos from this dealer within the last year. We recieved a fair price for both of our trade-ins and for our new cars. We bought my S40 T5 AWD in September of 2009 and they within the last year. We recieved a fair price for both of our trade-ins and for our new cars. We bought my S40 T5 AWD in September of 2009 and they worked with us on financing and getting everyhting we needed done in a quick and efficient manner. We bought my husbands S80 T6 AWD in September of this year, not only did they work with us in finding the exact car he was looking for, but they beat out the price and customer service of other dealers we were looking at. We are now devoted life long customers of theirs!!!! More
I bought a used C70 convertible from Don Beyer Volvo. They showed me a carfax report and I thought since I was buying from a "reputable" dealer that I would be safe with the purchase. A year later after They showed me a carfax report and I thought since I was buying from a "reputable" dealer that I would be safe with the purchase. A year later after visiting another Volvo dealerhsip I found out the car had been in an accident and the top frame was out of alignment. From the beginning there were problems with the top. Don Beyer Volvo was helpful in "fixing" it and even sent it out to have the top replaced. When it came back I noticed that it was rubbing on the sides of the top. I took it back to the top shop and they told me I needed to get a bushing for a metal piece which was rubbing the top inside the well. This was the end of September, so I decided to wait until the next spring to worry about it. Once the weather started turing nice, I headed to the Volvo dealership near my home. It was at thispoint that the shop manager pointed out the accident. He said his guys could try to fix it, but he couldn't promise it and didn't want to charge me the labor hours to find out. Before I bought the car I looked online for both reviews of the car as well as the dealership and found nothing truly negative about either. I wanted to post this so no one else ends up in my position. Beware of used cars from Don Beyer Volvo - even if they show you a car fax report. More
One week before I was selling '05 S40, my cruise control went out and I received a "service engine" light/code. I called the Don Beyer Volvo Dulles just before 7 pm and thought I'd have to leave a message. went out and I received a "service engine" light/code. I called the Don Beyer Volvo Dulles just before 7 pm and thought I'd have to leave a message. Fortunately, a receptionist answered the phone and explained that while the service dept. was closed, I should simply come in at 7 am the next morning and they'd work me in. The next morning (Friday), I went to the dealer, explained the problem and they had it diagnosed within 30 min (bad brake sensor). Unfortunately, they needed to order the part but they put me in a nice S60 loaner for the weekend (which I drove when shopping for my new BWM the next day). On Monday I received a call that the car was ready and I went and picked it up. The service department was great and if the sales department is that good, we may just consider a Volvo when it's time to replace my wife's car. More
The service advisor I was assigned had a terrible attitude. He was just rude from the time I dropped the car off, through my follow up calls to when I picked the car up. They have no clue how to trea attitude. He was just rude from the time I dropped the car off, through my follow up calls to when I picked the car up. They have no clue how to treat a customer. Our Toyota dealer is much...much...much more friendly and attentive. The service department at Don Beyer seems to put little to no effort into diagnosing and repairing warranty issues, even if the issues are not hard to identify. Just terrible service and an unpleasent place to go all around. Next time we will save $30K and just get another Toyota and forget the hassels of dealing with so called "luxury" cars. More
Had a great buying experience at this dealership. Quick negotiation, very limited haggling, and good price on trade and new car. I would definatley recommend it to others. Cross-shopped at Fairfax Volv negotiation, very limited haggling, and good price on trade and new car. I would definatley recommend it to others. Cross-shopped at Fairfax Volvo and completely difference approach there - endless haggling and obscenly low offer on trade. More
Terrible customer service. Their cashiers do not know how to greet customers properly and say thanks for bringing their cars in. It seems like they do not need our business and therefore, they wont get how to greet customers properly and say thanks for bringing their cars in. It seems like they do not need our business and therefore, they wont get it from me or anyone I know again. They do not fix the problem properly and I need to take it back for the same thing plus other problems. They give you run-down loaners and are stingy with their volvos unless you whine and complain. Do not be nice, or they will stick you with a rental car like a toyota corolla with everything manual. Come on...I am turning in a Volvo, not a Hyundai!!! When I bought a premium car, I was promised premium service and a Volvo when I turn mine in for service if under warranty. The service advisors do not even tell you that you have a free loaner option. Then, you have to reserve it a week in advance or they will stick you with an Enterprise "crap car". Unacceptable! More
We have taken our Volvo 850 to Don Beyer for service several times since we bought it from them in 1995. We finally stopped doing so because incredible as it may seem, every time we got the car back so several times since we bought it from them in 1995. We finally stopped doing so because incredible as it may seem, every time we got the car back something else was broken or broke soon after. Recently, we received a recall notice to replace some seals in the fuel system and we used Don Beyer because he is the only Volvo dealer close by to us. The people were nice, we were given a loaner and the car was ready quickly the same day. When we got home with it the radio antenna stopped retracting automatically. When we called them, the service people were just astonished at the coincidence. We are not. Never Again. More
