My wife and I visited Don Beyer Volvo to look at a new Volvo C70 over the Memorial Day Weekend. We have been in the market for a high end convertible and had researched several models. We have purchased Volvo C70 over the Memorial Day Weekend. We have been in the market for a high end convertible and had researched several models. We have purchased numerous new vehicles over the years and have a some good, but mostly poor experiences. We both agree that the experience at Don Beyer was by far the most professional and efficient by far. Pete Kesterson was our sales representative, and he was very well versed on all of the vehicles we discussed. There was absolutely no pressure, and we felt comfortable discussing the different options. In fact, we ended up purchasing both an C70 and a XC60. We traded in both our vehicles for the purchase. The negotiation was hastle free, and after we left I have continued to research our deal. I am confident that we were given the best deal with no hastle. We also financed our vehicles, and expected the usual issues and mark ups once we entered that phase. However, that went as smooth as the entire process. We both highly recommend Don Beyer, and especially Pete Kesterson. Thanks to them for actually making a new car purchase pleasant. More
I purchased my Volvo V70 believing that it was a finely tuned machine and backed by the manufacturer and the dealer who sold it to me, boy was I wrong! I had always owned Honda vehicles and found them to tuned machine and backed by the manufacturer and the dealer who sold it to me, boy was I wrong! I had always owned Honda vehicles and found them to be reliable, dependable and service friendly. After purchasing and owning a recent model low milage used V70 from Don Beyer Volvo of Dulles, I returned to Honda. I personally found the service department of this dealership to be condescending and rude. We had many visits to resolve issues with the relatively new vehicle with very low mileage. The final straw was when I was on a business trip but arranged routine service while I was out of the country. My wife dropped off the car and she asked for the loaner that I was promised, the service manager told her there were none. She immediately requested to speak to another manager and she was given the brush off. Being more than 6,000 miles away, when I heard about this I was quite angry. I made a point of getting up very early and calling the General Manager the next morning who decided that my business was not worth keeping by his continued inability to resolve the matter. Ultimately based on his unwillingness to one, apologize for the inconvenience and two, to honor the request we made for a loaner, we traded in the vehicle. One would think that for the price of the vehicle being sold and the very large service price tag that accompanies, the consumer would be treated more friendly. Not at Don Beyer! All of the witty radio ads will never sway me to do business with this outfit ever again. I recommend you patronize another Volvo dealer if a Volvo is what you seek. More
Took my 1998 Volvo C70 in to fix my AC which did not appear to be working in June in Virginia (very hot and humid). When I came to pick up the car the first time, after about 5 minutes on on hour long t appear to be working in June in Virginia (very hot and humid). When I came to pick up the car the first time, after about 5 minutes on on hour long trip back home, I realized the AC was still not fixed. It was too late in the day to return to the dealership that night, so I went home. Was soaking wet from sweating in the heat without AC. Took car back in the next day. Was told they accidentally overfilled the AC loop since the car was so old, the sticker saying how much to fill had worn away so they just guessed and guessed wrong. They then volunteered to give me a free detailing for my inconvenience. Came that night to pick it up and the AC was still broken. Walked right back in and told them it was still broken. Was informed they had accidentally fixed the blown hose from the last mistake with a defective clamp and hose with a hole in it. After this third fix and a week without my car, it was finally fixed. Then when i went to pick up the car, the receptionist made a snide remark, "it's fixed NOW" as if i was an annoying customer for having asked so much of them. Wrote a letter to the sevice manager and he did acknowledge that this was a rare and particularly bad situation, but i have little confidence in their abilities to work on my car. More
I've been leasing my Volvo's from Alex since 2003. Great, honest, no pressure service. Best place to get your Volvo. Would definitely recommend Alex and will go to him if I decide to get another Volvo. honest, no pressure service. Best place to get your Volvo. We have dealt with Don Beyer Volvo since 1975 and have always felt that the dealership deserves an excellent in every area. We purchased our first Volvo wagon new in 1973 from a dealership in the city of always felt that the dealership deserves an excellent in every area. We purchased our first Volvo wagon new in 1973 from a dealership in the city of Fairfax that is no longer in business. Our experience there was less than satisfactory. We didn't know about Don Beyer then, and when we later discovered their dealershp, we started taking our 73 to them and were more than pleased with the entire experience every time. We wished then that we had purchased our wagon from Don Beyer. Later we did purchase an 82 240 sedan and later a 92 240 sedan from Don Beyer, both used but like new condition. We have had our 92 serviced there since then. We enjoyed dealing with Richard in parts at that time and BJ in service. They always greeted us by name. That was when we dealt with their Falls Church dealership. We were really happy when Don Beyer opened the Sterling dealership, and BJ came out here to continue helping us. My wife drives the 92 still and wouldn't trade it for anything. The Don Beyer dealershiip keeps it in new condition for us. It purrs like a new one and is just as solid as new. We have always been more than pleased with the service we receive and would rate our entire experience as excellent or great. Chris Kolster is our advisor now, and he continues the excellent level of service. More
I first came to Don Beyer Volvo, Dulles, VA in early April 2006 after very extensive research and visits to other Volvo dealers. My first contact was Alex Marchenko and, after talking with him, I was co April 2006 after very extensive research and visits to other Volvo dealers. My first contact was Alex Marchenko and, after talking with him, I was convinced that this was where I wished to purchase my then 2006 Volvo S-80. Alex answered my specific questions and permitted me to drive the car for a short distance; this was enough for me to make my decision. Why did I give the high "5" ratings to this dealer? This rating was given because every time I go to this dealership, my problems are corrected or solved in an appropriate and fair manner. During my service visits for my 2006 Volvo, I was always treated with consideration in addition to being granted the option to divide my more expensive service bills over 2 or 3 months. When I decided to purchase my 2nd Volvo,(2012 Volvo S-60) on Nov. 19, 2011, I was given a credit consideration for a recent extensive service bill on my previous Volvo toward the total cost of the new 2012 Volvo S-60; this would not occur, I believe, at other dealers. I gave a top rating of "5" also because throughout all of my service experience and my two purchase experiences, Chris Kolster and Alex Marchenko always discouraged me from buying something that I did not need. I always appreciated this kind of honesty, and, this is one reason why I granted a top rating to Don Beyer Volvo, Dulles, VA. Another reason I have chosen this dealer and have given them a top rating is due to the fact that they have always attempted to accommodate my schedule when I am in need of routine or other service. I also especially appreciate the service and humor that I receive when I work with the office after service or during similar transactions; this compliment is extended to Shawna as she is extremely capable and efficient. In fact, I have suggested she has the ability to accept even more responsible assignments, if offered. I have already told many people how pleased I am with this dealer and will recommend this dealership to anyone. The dealer is welcome to use my name as a reference. More

I had a great experience at Don Beyer and just bought an XC60! After having a horrible experience at Rosenthal Fairfax Volvo, I went to Don Beyer Dulles with low expectations. Pete Kesterson was our sales XC60! After having a horrible experience at Rosenthal Fairfax Volvo, I went to Don Beyer Dulles with low expectations. Pete Kesterson was our salesman and he is just awesome. He loves Volvo's and was not a 'pushy' sales guy like I had experienced in the past! I went to test drive XC90 and he told me I would like the 60 better, and he was right... I bought the car, but had my newborn with me, so I couldn't do the walk through of the car. He offered to come to my house at 8:30 at night to do the walk through. Not only that, but it was POURING rain, and he still came and helped me. Can't say enough good things about the Don Beyer experience... thanks Pete! More
Got my first Volvo here, had a great experience. Everyone was very friendly to me and I though that it was only because I was buying a new car. 3 days later I come back for some papers and the mechanic remem was very friendly to me and I though that it was only because I was buying a new car. 3 days later I come back for some papers and the mechanic remembered me and called me by my name. I felt very welcomed. Volvo also gives you a nice loaner Volvos when you car is being serviced, very nice because other places I've been to give you something random like Ford or Hyundai. Would recommend this place to my other Volvo friends. More
