Visited dealership after conversing electronically of needs and wants, which one of the primary points was a trade valuation being met. Didn't have a need to purchase whatsoever as my car has low miles needs and wants, which one of the primary points was a trade valuation being met. Didn't have a need to purchase whatsoever as my car has low miles for the age of the vehicle and is in excellent condition. Dealership is a bit of a distance from me and expressed that, meaning that they shouldn't waste my time. Unfortunately, they did exactly that and honestly I will not deal with this dealership again. Upon meeting Vinnie at Bertera, it was a pleasant interaction and I allowed them the opportunity to value my vehicle. Quickly noticed that the manager needed some assistance so he came inside and asked another manager to go out and xxxxx the vehicle (3-people at this point). Knowing what the valuation on my vehicle was in advance by doing my own research from many avenues, I knew what I was looking for and what I wouldn't take. Of course, they came back and low-balled my trade outlining certain items that they wanted me to eat the price on, even after refuting certain points. Eventually, I ended the conversation when they were way out the ballpark of even wanting to do business with me. They reached out a few days later, still low-balled me and told them my bottom line. They agreed, finally, on the price that I wanted but with 3 guidelines I must follow, 1, give them a deposit for a new vehicle, 2, allow them to put my vehicle on a lift to find repairables, 3, remove a negative rating. Essentially, decided not to go with them for their poor interaction and wanting to do business on their terms and not wanting to earn mine. Never thought my vehicle was perfect but it's in VERY GOOD shape but with their nitpicking, they were looking for a deal. Further, their management is pretty bold to ask for certain things, especially removing a negative rating. Negative ratings are removed with great customer service, which they are are lacking. The entire Establishment oozes with predator sharks and the inability to even treat people with any respect. Try again with someone else! More
I didn't end up buying a car here due to Bertera's high prices and unwillingness to negotiate. I was shopping for a lightly used Forester (1 year old under 5k miles) and found 2 listings at two different prices and unwillingness to negotiate. I was shopping for a lightly used Forester (1 year old under 5k miles) and found 2 listings at two different dealerships in CT. Both cars were identically optioned down to the color. Both cars were former service loaners for their respective dealers and had roughly 3,500 miles on them. On their website Bertera was asking $1300 more than the other dealership was asking for theirs. I stopped at Bertera first as it is about 30 minutes closer to home than the other dealership. The salesman was accommodating and went with me for a test drive. When we got back to the dealership I explained that I liked the car but felt it was overpriced and showed him the listing from the other dealership. He wouldn't budge on his price so I ended up walking out and buying from the other dealership. Bertra is close to some other pretty high-end dealerships (BMW, Land Rover, Etc...) so maybe they feel they can attract customers willing to pay more than they should. Having said all that, my salesman was professional, knowledgeable, courteous, and did not try to pressure me into anything. Although, I felt the interaction turned a bit cold once he realized I had done my homework and wasn't going to be an "easy" customer. The car I looked at was also extremely clean and well presented. If the prices here were in line with what I was seeing at the other dealership I would have done business here. More

I walked in today just thinking I was going to test drive a car, a few hours later and with the help of Vinnie and Pam I left the lot with that car today! Vinnie was welcoming from the beginning, was very kn a car, a few hours later and with the help of Vinnie and Pam I left the lot with that car today! Vinnie was welcoming from the beginning, was very knowledgeable about the Nissan Rouge I was looking at. When it came down to finance, Pam was amazing as well, she worked with us and was so kind and helpful made sure to explain everything and was also super knowledgeable about the Nissan rogue which was an added bonus. All in all I am super happy with my experience and purchase and I would return here again for about vehicle in the future. More
We had many issues with other dealerships and so we drove over an hour to come to Bertera. This is the second car we have purchased from Bertera. Issa sold us both cars and is the best in the business. I wil over an hour to come to Bertera. This is the second car we have purchased from Bertera. This was my first stop when I started looking for a vehicle. I didn't know what I wanted to get so I tried out a 2019 Subaru Forester w/47k miles for 26,500. I decided to look online while at the deale vehicle. I didn't know what I wanted to get so I tried out a 2019 Subaru Forester w/47k miles for 26,500. I decided to look online while at the dealer to see if there were better deals out there. Sure enough found a 2019 Forester w/32k miles for $25k. I showed the salesman that vehicle he got the manager who searched the lot and found a similar Forester and got the price down to 25,800. I decided that was a decent offer and put a deposit on it. The problem I learned was that they didn't have the title for the Forester and we're waiting to get it. Had I wanted to buy that car on the spot I couldn't have driven away without the title for it. I decided to look around at other dealers and found a few pick up trucks I liked better so I asked for the deposit back. I was told the deposit was non refundable. I think it's poor business and maybe not legal to keep a deposit for a vehicle for which you don't have the title. More
We just yesterday purchased our 8th Subaru, all from Issa Daoud at Bertera Subaru. Not to mention that we’ve had several friends and family members purchase cars from them. Issa is a phenomenal salesman, a Daoud at Bertera Subaru. Not to mention that we’ve had several friends and family members purchase cars from them. I own an outback but didn't purchase it from Bertera. I usually use my own trusted mechanic for the work I need, however, I had an exhaust leak and my mechanic reluctantly referred me to the dealer. The I usually use my own trusted mechanic for the work I need, however, I had an exhaust leak and my mechanic reluctantly referred me to the dealer. The service department at Bertera handed me their diagnostic report which included it was the catalytic converter that need to be replaced, letting me know that the cost for the part and labor would cost me a little over $4000 and it could take up to a month to get the part. Based on this information, I inquired about the trade-in value Bertera would give me for my Outback, if I chose not to do the work and use their trade-up program. The sales manager gave me a $7000 trade-in vale which of course was very low and was based on the information from the service department. After their diagnostic work, I consulted my mechanic again and went to another trusted mechanic. Both mechanics quoted me a price for under $800! The catalytic converter was not the problem! They lied, took advantage of me, and provided me with fraudulent information. I would NEVER go to Bertera for anything, they are not to be trusted! More

He took our money for a car and after I asked how much longer (after waiting almost 2 full hours quietly AND we had had an appointment); he told me I can leave if I want, but he had both my money and the car! He was so combative and rude, that because of him alone I could never comfortably go here again More
ZERO STARS Despite having made an appointment at Bertera of Hartford, I was left writing for 3 1/2 hours for what should have taken 15 minutes. The treatment I was about to endure was hardly fair or ethical of Hartford, I was left writing for 3 1/2 hours for what should have taken 15 minutes. The treatment I was about to endure was hardly fair or ethical. The salesman, Bill, was sleazy and manipulative. The sales manager, Chris, was a bully. They ganged up on me and grossly exaggerated the minor damage on my car. They pressured me to accept their terms. It seems they enjoyed their underhanded tactics and the unfair practices that took place. There was no negotiating; they would not allow it. The word customer hardly applies here. The word victim is more appropriate. The finance officer, Jonathan, rushed me through the paperwork and, despite being asked, refused to slow down to explain anything. There were hidden charges I did not see at the time. In subsequent interactions, Chris was impatient, rude and obnoxious. They damaged the vehicle while getting it ready without disclosure or compensation. The "protective" treatment of the upholstery has failed. I wish I'd seen all the online negative reviews of Bertera before I went. I would not have gone. I regret even considering driving onto that lot. DON"T DO IT. More
