I usually do not like leaving negative reviews, but the experience I had at Bernardi Toyota was extremely disappointing. I reached out to them about a 2017 Toyota Sienna XLE I was interested in purchasing. The sales manager, Paulo (if I got the name correctly), repeatedly called me trying to schedule a visit and close the deal. I was originally supposed to come on Thursday, but work prevented me from making it. I eventually arranged to visit on Friday after the sales manager encouraged me to come in for a test drive and inspection. Based on the dealership’s ratings and recommendations, I was genuinely planning to give them my business. About an hour before my arrival, the sales manager called again saying he wanted to make sure the vehicle was ready for me to test drive, and I confirmed that I would definitely be coming. However, when I arrived, I was handed over to a salesperson named Jose, who immediately started giving me “good news and bad news.” The vehicle I came to inspect and test drive was hanging on a lift with all four tires and brakes removed. That alone was a major red flag to me, which I pointed out, but instead of addressing my concern professionally, he became defensive. Before visiting Bernardi Toyota, I had already found a similar Sienna with the same year, trim, and nearly identical mileage (actually about 2,000 fewer miles) for roughly $2,500 less. Still, because of Bernardi Toyota’s reputation and reviews, I was willing to work with them. I offered $24,000 on a vehicle they advertised for $25,500, which I later realized was actually $25,000 plus a $500 dealership fee. Unfortunately, the sales manager showed very little interest in working with us. He never came back to discuss the offer directly and instead kept sending the salesperson back and forth. In the end, they lost my business over just $500 and poor communication. My wife even encouraged me to try reaching back out to the sales manager, but he stopped answering my calls. Later, when I called the dealership’s general line, the employee who answered was asking the sales manager whether he even wanted to speak with me — not realizing I could hear the conversation. The most frustrating part was hearing the salesperson tell me that he was “trying to help me” by selling me the vehicle, as if they were doing me a favor for bringing them business. If this type of attitude and customer service is what Bernardi Toyota relies on, then the dealership seriously needs to reevaluate how these employees represent the business. No dealership should allow staff to prioritize personal interests or ego over professionalism and customer experience. More

My service writer, Phil Mariani, listened to the symptoms I described, then assigned the job to a very experienced tech, Aidan. Aidan did a multipoint inspection & ran some diagnostic test. My battery was at end of life & was replaced. I also got my yearly state inspection sticker done. All of this was done in a very timely manner. Great shop to bring your car or truck. More
Managed to knock my right rear view mirror off my brand new car. Bernardi brought the part in overnight and it was fixed by noon the next day. I brought my car in for service. Mariana was the representative who took my car in. I was very disappointed with the additional charges above the estimate I received. Also, I was charged a fee (~4%) of the total because I was paying with a credit card. This is the first time I’ve seen this fee. Customer service could have been better. Other service advisors (Phil) have been fantastic to work with. I do like the Service department but this last visit didn’t sit well with me. More

I have a 2009 Avalon that has been serviced only at this dealer. It is running very well and I have had a lot of work done to keep it running well.
