The entire process from test drive to negotiations and final sale and delivery of the vehicle was smooth and professional. This is the second vehicle in a row I have bought from Bernardo Honda. They are a "Class A" outfit. Jayson Navarro is amicable, personably and shows great care for the customer experience. Thank you for the wonderful experience. More

Luckily we were close to this dealership and able to drop it off after hours. Lori called me first thing the next morning, and got the car in to be diagnosed right away. Turned out to need a new water pump. Bernardi did not have the part in stock, but was able to get it from another dealer, and got the repair done before the end of the day. Thanks to everyone there, especially Lori, for getting these stranded travelers back on the road to home! More

I contacted the dealership before physically going there and wanted to purchase a NEW 2017 Honda civic EX-T (Cosmic Blue) which was parked inside the showroom floor. I spoke with Sales Person Jayson Navarro over the phone and negotiated a deal which we both came to an agreement on for $20,000. I did not go to the dealership to look at the car but to purchase it. I also told Jayson that I would be putting down $7,000 and financing the rest with DCU Credit Union. Once, I reached there I was told to have a seat and that we would proceed with the paper work. The sales person was also handling another customer at the same time and he did not provide us with his undivided attention and where his “Sales Tactics” began. Jayson was told multiple times that I was going to put $7,000 dollars down and would be financing the rest. He kept pushing me to put $2,500 ASAP on a credit or debit card and get a cashier’s check for the remaining $4,500 due to dealership restrictions. I told him multiple times that I would go and get a cashier’s check for the whole $7,000 dollars and he stated to get the process started I would have to put $2,500 down payment. I wrote a down payment check for $2,500 (Bank of America check # 0091) and gave it to Jayson with the credit application. He came back saying that since it is an introductory check from my bank they would not accept it and that I would have to pay with a debit card. I asked Jayson if I could have my check back since I had signed it already, he assured me that he voided it. I told him once again that I want my check back and now he said that he shredded it. When I asked him why he did that; he could not provide me with answers. I signed a purchase agreement and filled a credit application for the vehicle parked inside the showroom. Later, it came to my attention that the purchase agreement did not reflect the $2,500 down payment I had given and was not deducted from the total price of the car. While I was waiting to go into the finance/business office to go over terms and agreement for financing, a lady approached me with a brochure in hand and tried to sell me accessories for the car. I questioned her and asked her why she was doing so since the car I was purchasing had all the accessories she was trying to sell me. She stated she would call the sales person Jayson Navarro over. When Jayson arrived I asked him am I buying the car parked in front of me? He stated NO. I was furious and confused, I asked him which car am I buying then and he stated the one at Willow street location. I was livid! Once I found out that it was not the one parked inside the showroom I decided to cancel the deal and didn’t want to proceed further. I stood up and told him to stop the process ASAP and return my $2,500 dollar down payment. I wanted to leave the dealership immediately. At that point he stated that he could not give me my $2,500 back since it was a deposit. I was shocked, Jayson at NO POINT informed me of this. I asked him again to give me my $2,500 back since it was DOWN PAYMENT not a deposit, he flat out said NO. At which point I was so frustrated and helpless I left. I did not know what to do since it was my first time buying a car. I left and called a close friend who had been in the car business for years. He told me to call Jayson once again and tell him that it was a down payment not a deposit and unfair what he was trying to do, Jayson once again stated that the DEPOSIT was NON-REFUNDABLE. I did not put a deposit I put a DOWN PAYMENT towards the car that was in the showroom that I was supposed to buy the same day. Later that evening I went back to dealership with my friend around 7 pm to talk to the GM. We spoke with two sales managers Greg Dietz and Scott Wells and they offered no help. I was told that the John McCarthy, General Sales Manager would contact me on 02/11/17. He called the next day and basically offered no help, instead he gave me two alternatives. 1) To buy the car that I didn’t want. 2) Loose the $2,500 dollars. This is wrong and an UNETHICAL way of doing business. I want my $2,500 dollars back. I never bought the car due to immoral ways the sales person tried to sell me a car. Knowing I was a first time buyer, blatantly taking advantage of me. This was the most unethical way of taking someone’s money, taking advantage of someone’s lack of knowledge of the car sales industry. Jason should be reprimanded for his sales tactics and I need to be refunded, it’s the right thing to do. My issue has been resolved after going back and forth for a week but I would like other buyers to be aware. More
