I'm sorry the items we provided at no cost as a gesture of goodwill didn't seem to be adequate compensation for the inconvenience. Matt, We're sorry to learn you are disappointed in the outcome of your sale here at Bernardi Honda. When you came in, you selected a car and purchased the vehicle - we both signed a Purchase and Sales contract agreeing to the terms – committing both of us to honor the original agreement – which we did. You left happy with the process. We later found out that you also did purchased and did paperwork at another Honda dealer. You called the following morning and said you wanted to cancel our contract and follow through with the second dealer – because they were closer, even though “we had offered a better experience” (in your own words) because their vehicle had an Ivory interior and was, in your words” about $2.00 dollars less a month that our payment was”. Matt, because Bernardi had invested the time in you as a client and wanted to keep you as a client we did the following. - Bernardi offered to lower the payment $2.00 a month to match the other deal – we even offered to lower it further in an effort to help. - Bernardi offered to locate you the exact vehicle in the color you wanted to keep you satisfied. - Bernardi asked if there was anything we could do to keep the sale together as we had already consummated a purchase contract and simply wanted to keep you as a client. Matt, we gave you a very fair and competitive price which we offered to adjust in the simple interest of keeping your business here. We have tried in every way to make you happy - including lowering the price by that small amount or greater, and finding you a different color. All we asked was that we both honored our sides of the deal we had come to terms on. In no way were we inflexible or “take it or leave it”. We tried several different things to help you feel comfortable. . We are sorry you chose to go to another dealer and wish you had let us know your concerns prior to that so we could have headed this off. By your own admission during our phone call – we did nothing wrong – you just decided to try another dealer. We would have liked to keep you as a client and we still welcome you a service customer.
